Ghost in His Eyes Kindle Edition

He was as magnetic as a deadly hurricane to the shore.

Carson Cole was my first love. The boy I'd shared my whole self with.

He was the man who'd taken the other part of my soul and drowned it in the sea we'd grown up in.

And now he's back. Ten years later, and the demons of our past are still haunting every breath trapped between us.

She was as wild as the horses who owned the beach highways we drove down.

Blake Sayer was the beautiful daredevil who had me wrapped around her finger from the time we were seven.

Until a horrible accident stole every piece of joy from her life.

Ten years later, she's a shell of the girl she once was, and it's all my fault. The whispers of our history shackle her to the island I left behind.

Just like lost years and unspoken words, love had slipped from our fingers like grains of sand. We’d barely made it out alive last time, was it even possible to reconstruct the shattered pieces of us?

Author of romance novels such as Fleeting and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. Her stories are fueled by vanilla lattes, meloncholy music, and copious amounts of candles.

When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in farm country with her husband, two children and ninety-pound rescue pup.

4 stars!

This wasn’t my first Carrie Aarons book so I thought I knew what to expect but I was wrong. This story was heartbreaking but so sweet.

Blake and Carson were childhood sweethearts until a terrible tragedy struck and tore them apart. Blake has been living as a hermit for the past 10 years as a way to try and cope with what happened but now Carson is back in town. This story is about a second chance romance and while there are parts that are heartbreaking there are also parts that make you smile.

These two are meant for each other and Carrie Aarons has a way with words that lets you feel each characters pain as if it’s your own. She can describe scenery perfectly. I don’t want to get into too much detail about the story because I feel like you should read it without knowing what happens however, this story has the perfect happy ending. If you're looking for something with less angst and more romance then this is the book for you.

3.5*'s.

This is a story about young love, high school sweet hearts with the world at their feet. That is until the unthinkable happens. Then everything gets turned around and things said in the heat of the moment that hurt deeply.

Blake Sayer is living a reclusive lifestyle that she didn't plan on when she was a teen. Things are very different for her now. Carson Cole was meant to be in her life, but after that night, he left town for ten years. Now he's back to run the family business and maybe get a chance to talk with Blake, and work through that eventful evening.

I am a lover of second chance romances so was happy when I was offered to read this book. I felt the characters were strong and the story line complete. I did feel it lacked a little on the suspense. There was plenty of drama and some angst and a whole lot of romance which makes my heart sing. I think it was because they found their HEA early, I was waiting for a dilemma that needed solving beyond their reconciliation. If you are looking for a sweet romantic story that will leave you on a high, then this book is for you.

*I received a copy for an honest review.

GHOST IN HIS EYES is the first book I have read by Carrie Aarons and I enjoyed her writing style. She sure knows how to write a tender “first time” innocent love scene. This is a sweet love story. This is an epic romance story. This is a tragic love story. And a second chance story.

The story takes place in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. And Corolla, Carova, and Duck are the towns that you will feel you visited while reading this book. The Ocean is close and the horses run free.

Blake Sayer has been in love with Carson Cole since they were 7 years old. With her twin brother Joel Sayer making up this dynamic trio. A wonderful childhood spent in this paradise with the beach in your backyard where the wild horses come to play. The North Carolina Wild Horse Association keeping the horses protected. These horses have been there for centuries.

Graduation and College were going to separate these two lovers, brother and friend. But unthinkable tragedy strikes before that separation ever could happen. In her pain and grief, Blake says the most awful things to the one person she needed the most. Ending in her isolation, and with no one, but her black lab Rhett.

Ten lonely years go past, before Carson is called back home to take leadership job from his father of the North Carolina Wild Horse Association that was founded by his Great-Grandfather. And just maybe have a second chance to mend two broken hearts, and find a “ever after” with his soul mate. Fate broke them apart and might bring them back together.

I bought this book and I am half way done but my pages are falling out. I’m not even bending it but when I slightly turn the pages it’s like their not put in correctly so now I have all of these single pages stuck in the book. Anyone else have this issue?

After reading the blurb I loved the sound of this, but when I read it I really couldn't connect with the characters the way I'd hoped.

Blake Sayer has had so much heartache, so much so it made her somewhat of a recluse. So when on her monthly trip to the shops Carson Cole makes it known that he's back after ten years.

Ten years ago there was the heartbreaking loss that effected both Blake and Carson. They were each others first loves, but the heartbreak tore them apart. Now that Carson is back will he and Blake be able to get past the hurt and pain of their past and forge a future together.

What I imagined would have been an angst filled second chance was more sweet, but it was a much enjoyable read.

Great second chance romance full of love, forgiveness, regret, moving on, and finally happiness. This is a story that is hard to put down.
