Wow! This was hot and sexy perfection!! A fun, quick and scorching hot read that will leave you panting and wanting more.

I was sucked into this story from the very beginning and it didn't let me go until I finished reading the whole book. It was a quick read but it had everything I look for in a sexy book.

The characters were so loveable. I adored sweet Cole and loved Sean's cocky attitude. Their chemistry was intense from the start on and had me fanning myself quite a few times.

The Story:
Cole wants to make Willow happy and does something he would never have done otherwise. Although not sure of what he's doing, he sticks to his decision. But he didn't count on the feelings Jake elicits from him just by his intense and scrutinizing gaze. When the heat gets too overwhelming Cole has to make up his mind whether to stay or to go.

This is my first book from Beth Michele and it definitely won't be my last. This was a fantastic quick read that sees Colt exploring his sexuality. There are some seriously hot sex scenes but I also enjoyed the sweet, vulnerability shown in this romance. Definitely recommend to fans of MM books.
I won a copy on release day.

I wish this had been longer. As it stands, it's ok for a short read. But it's nothing amazing. It's a little rushed in places and some plot points leave a lot of unanswered questions, when there probably wasn't meant to be any.

For a quick read Beth Michele certainly packs a punch with Behind His Lens. Behind His Lens is a M/M novella that while short still delivers in all the right places, this one packs an emotional punch all the while delivering an honest, sensitive, raw account of a man falling in love with another man for the first time.

Love is unique, it catches us off guard, it happens when you least expect it and it affects everyone differently and that doesn’t negate one person’s love over another. Behind His Lens is a voyage of discovery for Colt, a seemingly innocent present for his girlfriend leads to the biggest wakeup call of his life. A wakeup call that deep down he knew there were flickers, but where it takes someone special to ignite.

“Jesus. Talk about being out of my element. I was the first one to talk dirty. To like it dirty. But to be on the receiving end of it, from another guy? The intensity ratcheted my heart rate up about a thousand percent.”

Once ignited the love affair comes to life along with all the questions and the questioning of Colt’s feelings and emotions. This was not all about what happens between the sheets but gave a short insight into the real struggles people go through daily when questioning their sexuality.

Beth Michele delivers a book that was highly addictive, enjoyable to read but most of all, real and honest. The emotional connection was there which is hard to deliver in a short especially when the author delves into both men’s insecurities and vulnerabilities. Their story was cute, romantic and seriously hot and my only gripe…I wanted more, I did not want to leave these two, I saw the spark, I saw the ignition and now I would like the inferno.

……..prepare to be squicked! I consider myself a MM purist and rarely venture outside the genre – having read only one MF book in well over a decade, in fact. And although I don't particularly relish the idea of either MF or MFM scenes in my MM romance, I am willing to overlook it so long as it doesn't feel contrived, but instead intrinsic in pushing the leads’ story along. I personally felt with this novella, that (practically) opening the tale with a fairly graphic MF scene, was mildly off-putting, and more importantly, just didn't feel all that necessary, as the scene could've easily been glossed over or omitted altogether and it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference to the development of Colt and Sean's romance.

That said, this was a fairly decent little sort-of (as Colt had always been attracted to guys, and just never acted on it) GFY story, that had elements of Ella Frank’s Try, but in a much more condensed way and without any of that crucial slow burn and real passion that I adore so much. The sex scenes between these guys were admittedly pretty hot, but their strong feelings toward one another seemed to appear from nowhere and just felt far too rushed, and ultimately lacked believability, imo. However, if you don't mind instalove or that the tale ends at 91% into the book, then you may well enjoy this well-written and fairly steamy quickie, that's all rounded up nicely in a sweet and romantic epilogue.

Life. It sometimes surprises you. Colt was very content in his world, dating women and being what he thought was happy, but secretly harboring a secret feeling that he buried. That he was somewhat attracted to men.

What starts out as a kind of dare from his girlfriend to make a video, Colt meets Jake and is forced to face a new reality. A reality where Jake could be more Jake's type than any woman he has known.

Jake has been through his own struggles and knows deep down what he wants, or really who he wants, and that is Colt. Jake does all he can to seduce Colt and their attraction is instant and honest!
Neither one of them counted on true emotions to surface, but some hard truths need to be examined and understood. Time spent together, casual and sexy, brings them closer to in soul and spirit.

Behind His Lens is a steamy, sexy, sweet and smiley read! I loved the raw emotion of these two men finding each other! Congratulations, Beth Michele!!
