Wreck (Gentry Generations Book 5) Kindle Edition

"You are going to RUIN me, Thomas Gentry. Do you know that?"
"Gracie, that's the whole idea..."

**From NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Cora Brent, this 'emotional, addicting page turner' may be read as a stand alone.**

THOMAS
Not too long ago my future was all mapped out.
Then two brutal swings of a steel bat wielded by a maniac wrecked my world.
The adrenaline high I used to get from pitching a perfect game is gone.
The major league dreams I counted on have vanished.
And the peace of mind I took for granted is shattered.
The thrills I seek out now are self-destructive.
I know this and I can’t stop.
What I didn’t expect is for my downward spiral to be interrupted by a shy beauty with a messy past.
I can prove to Gracie that we’re supposed to be together.
All she has to do is take that risk.
And all I have to do is remember how to be the guy she thinks I am.

GRACIE
I’ve learned the hard way that one reckless mistake can topple your house of cards.
And I thought I was finished taking chances.
But Thomas Gentry made it clear he was on a mission to break my armor and guys like Thomas didn’t come along every day.
He was as charming as he was headstrong, as hot as he was protective.
He put all the book heroes I’ve ever drooled over to shame.
Falling for Thomas was inevitable.
And I was his before I understood something important.
We're both broken for different reasons.
We both need to find a way to heal.
Otherwise we don't stand a chance...

An emotional and heart mending romance...

An emotional and heart mending romance...
In the time since Thomas Gentry's career as a professional baseball player was shattered, along with his pitching hand, he has struggled to discover his new direction in life. Becoming an adrenaline junkie provides the only excitement he can muster up in his now stagnant existence... until he meets a woman who helps him feel again.Gracie Ferraro possesses her own broken spirit. With her past mistakes still lingering, completely fresh and raw, she has been punishing herself instead of moving on. And while meeting a man like Thomas makes Gracie want things she could never deserve, he may be the only man who can help her see just how far she's come from being that once naive and easily manipulated teenager.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wreck was an emotional and heart mending romance between two characters whose lives seem to be wrecked beyond all repair. Thomas has lost his chance at playing pro-baseball, and Gracie threw her talent for the violin and her family away in one rash decision. But, when they meet each other, they will soon realize that finding true happiness may be more attainable than they ever realized.Thomas' heroic sacrifice left his body battered and broken, and although he would never take back protecting the people he loves, he can't help but think he could have done more. Living with regret for the state of his career and what he has lost, he spends his days as a shell of his former self, and puts himself in danger to feel even the smallest bit of excitement.Gracie has lost the love of most of her family, except for her uncle who has always been there for her. But now, he needs her to help take care of him and his lawn care business while he is unable to do so, and Gracie would do anything for the man who has never hesitated in his love for her. With her inability to overcome the mistakes she once made, when Gracie meets Thomas, she finally feels the impact of what the smallest sliver of happiness can do. I loved the plot of this book, and while I felt there was a lot to Gracie's story we were missing, I adored the journey they worked through, together. As always, the amazing Gentry family does what they do best and embraces a person who can truly appreciate their devotion and acceptance, which is sure to warm even the coldest of hearts.Thomas and Gracie find a shared emptiness in each other which helps them both to heal in a way that their loved ones could never understand. This was a great read, which produced yet another fabulous Gentry couple! I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

I knew Thomas's story was going to be worth it. He is the "best" of the Gentry boys and nice guys are the most filthy. He did not disappoint. The epilogue was sweet but always leaves me wanting more Gentrys.

I love Thomas and Gracie's love story. They are suited for each other. They are both trying to fill a void while running away from their past. Thomas is having to face realty that his dreams of a baseball career will never come to fruition. Gracie is trying to come to term that one mistake as a teenager caused so much harm to her family. They are a balm to each other while they are trying to heal. They have great chemistry and things just keep getting hotter and hotter. I just wasn't ready for their story to end. Thomas has a faulty memory, though. He keeps thinking about the metal bat when in the other book it was a wooden bat.

Thomas reminds me so much of his father. Not just certain incidents that are similar between the two, but his personality. He is just the sweetest and I loved seeing his growth within the entire series. I love how Gracie is. A girl who has made mistakes in her youth, but is trying to get her life in order. She had already come a long way with the help of Viktor, but she had so much more she needed to go through in order to forgive herself.
One thing I love about all the Gentry family is that they all have come a long way, but are still the closest, most tight knit family there is. They're so supportive of everyone and so welcoming. I will always love this family!
Can't wait to see Deck's reaction to Izzy's boyfriend lol. I can't just imagine it.

Oh, my poor heart! Thomas and Gracie truly put my heart through the wringer as their story unfolded. I felt so much for these two wounded souls that were so perfect for each other. These were incredibly lovable characters that were easy to connect with and feel for. The read quickly had me captivated and desperate to keep reading in spite of havening other obligations that I needed to be seen to. There is a boatload of emotions in this all-the-feels romance. A truly terrific read and another excellent entry in The Gentry world.

Gracie is amazing, her struggles are real and authentic. Her dad needs a swift kick to the teeth, he sucks but her Great Uncle, what a beautiful human. I absolutely adored Gracie and Viktor’s relationship, it was precious. Gracie was so strong and her care for Thomas was incredible, I loved watching her grow as a woman but also growing in love with Thomas.

THOMAS FREAKING GENTRY. He is perfection, just absolute perfection. I haven’t loved another Gentry man since Cord. (He is my book hubby y’all.) Thomas’ story was so gut wrenching at times but I am a firm believer that there is beauty in pain. His growth was amazing and his love for Gracie just warmed my heart.

Y’all this story was everything I had hoped for, Cora Brent delivered. I felt all the feelings reading a Cora book. It was wonderful and I can’t wait for Izzy’s book. I love that this family keeps growing and that Cora keeps giving us more.

I love this series. I love how the members of the Gentry clan are super close but also unique individuals. The stories of each family member always link in someway and the stories are always believable. However, this book just didn't seem to click for me like the others. I think the problem was it just seemed way to easy for Thomas and Gracie starting out as a couple. I wish there had been more friendship or getting to know each other before they became a couple. It seems the other stories slowly moved into that phase and this one didn't. I will say this book actually made me tear up more than once. The bond between the brothers Derek, Kellan and Thomas is very touching and felt throughout the book. Overall it is a good book and I am looking forward to the next one.

Six years?? WHAT?!?! I remember elements of Draw, Cord and Sailor's story, that's when I realized the Gentry's were going to be special and they really are so special! One of the things I like most about the Gentry stories is their commitment to family, however that looks for them, they truly are a family. I enjoyed this story and connected easily to the characters. I read about the attack that Thomas survived and was really interested to see how the after effects would impact his life. I was certainly surprised by his feelings on how he handled the attack and his behavior after. Gracie has an equally interesting story and I felt horrible by how her family treated her (with the exception of Viktor) and was not at all surprised that the Gentry crew welcomed her with open arms.

From the first chapter, I was captivated, I couldn’t put this book down. Thomas and Gracie were good people who had bad things happen to them. Both are still at the point of experiencing some lingering after effects from this when they first meet. As they grow closer together, it is apparent how really good they are for each other. They were both so genuinely likeable. Gracie fit in perfectly with the Gentry family I could see them 20 years in the future as happy as all the other Gentry couples. They deserved happiness. But you have to love yourself before you can love someone else. A beautiful story about forgiving yourself. I really liked this book. If you are a fan of the Gentry family, you won’t want to miss this. read this. If you haven’t met them yet, this is a great book to do so!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gentry's Forever
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 22, 2020
They made me cry! The Gentry's will forever be in my heart. All of them but these brothers Derek, Kellan and Thomas are something special. Their interactions with each other scream of love and loyalty. I love them so much i'm all emosh! Their relationship opens up in this book and I could gush about them all day. They're just amazing.

Thomas is so special. He's EVERYTHING!! Gracie is right, he's the epitome of the best book boyfriend. If the term "best book boyfriend" was in the dictionary Thomas Gentry's name would be under it. I'm not joking i'm getting teary and warm and fuzzy just thinking about him!

He's always been the perfect son and brother. In this we see him unravel a little and it just made him even more loveable. He breaks my heart thinking about what he lost after he was attacked. He's not really dealt with the ordeal and we see him struggle. He meets Gracie and eventually she helps him see he needs some help.

Gracie is such a sweetie. She herself had a rough past of her own making and boy was she punishing herself for it. I loved everything about her. She's perfect for Thomas. And watching them together brought massive smiles to my face. I loved how they both just got the connection from the start. They didn't fight it but embraced it in such a sweet way. I also loved how they saw in each other what they needed to see in themselves to heal. They kind of fix each other and themselves at the same time.

If you're thinking hmmm sweet isn't for me, think again! Although they are all that, they're also so much more!! The heat they made almost blew my phone up! Phewwwww Thomas is a dirty dirty boy!! All that goodness hides a beast!! I felt a little wrong lusting after him but damn Thomas is all grown up!

Loved the story as always Cora brought it home. Loved them, they were a match made hot heaven, and i just freaking love The Gentry's!! One of the best book families you will ever meet! I've been there nearly from the start, i think i came in on the second book and i have loved them from then. I think i always will because they're mine!

Every book cements them in my soul. I feel them deep. Long may this family go on and on! LOVE!! Can't recommend this whole series enough but young Thomas here is one of my faves.

Bring on Izzy!! #GentrysForever

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gentry’s... may it continue!! 5+*
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 14, 2020
2014 we were graced with the first of the Gentry stories... Draw Gentry followed by Creed then Chase. As if that wasn’t epic enough here we are 2020 and still reading about the Gentry’s. Cora Brent didn’t realise what the Gentry family saga would become...that was then this is now and we couldn’t be more thrilled with everything Gentry.!
Wreck is Thomas and Gracie story and it is everything that you come to expect from a Gentry, after all this time and countless stories it hasn’t lost its shine one bit.
From beginning to end you are captivated with Thomas and Gracie, they really are a perfect match both having dealt with regrets and guilt but also dealing with all of that very different.
While Thomas seems set on a path of destruction Gracie see’s straight through him she already knows why he needs to do what he’s doing knowing where it could lead she takes matters into her own hands... after all Gracie has seen plenty of danger she knows it when she see’s it and doesn’t want it anymore least of all for Thomas.
It could have all back fired but thankfully Thomas comes to his senses and makes the right choice.
Fabulously written with all the usual Gentry charm however there are plenty of worries and concerns especially with Track you couldn’t help feel a little nervous that he might show up again and cause trouble or more it came as a nice surprise that he too chose to do the right thing and leave Gracie alone. It was just a shame her own parents couldn’t do the right thing too ... thank goodness for Victor and of course the Gentry’s.!
Looking forward to reading all about Isabella in STRAYS..

I love this book, so fecking much it is unbelievable.
I was pulled into this book right from the beginning, staying there until I had read every single word that was written, all the while my little mini movie was playing out in my head.
There are surprises throughout the book, some are large, some are small, some you will see coming others you won't, but they all aide in making the book the awesome read that it is.
Emotions are rife throughout the book, I went through each and every emotion that the characters went through, at the same time as them, I will admit that I cried at this book, some were really big fat ugly tears. Doesn't matter how many times I read this book or listen to it as it is also available on audible, I still go through the same things at the same time.
I couldn't wait to read this book, I love the fact that we are reading about the kids that are now all grown up and going through the problems with there love lives.
This is still one of my all time favourite series.
I highly recommend this book.
