Timber (Men At Work Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 148 ratings

All I wanted was some no-strings attached sex, where small talk wasn’t necessary. There'd be no reminders of laundry that needed to be done and my endless list of responsibilities could be forgotten.

Signing up for the Timber dating app was my answer. No wining or dining; just sex. Those were my rules. I never imagined I'd meet champion lumberjack Magnus Andersen, or that he'd be interested in me.

We're from two different worlds. He lives a life of luxury, while I'm barely making ends meet. He’s prime rib and I’m mac and cheese.

But the more I get to know him the less those differences seem to matter. He thinks this could work and I just might be crazy enough to believe him.

Online dating at it's finest. Magnus is the face of the dating app Timber, who happens to stumble upon Lucy's profile and is instantly interested. Lucy had no intentions of using Timber at first, but decided that it would be a great way to get no-strings sex, especially since she's a single mom to 5 year old Jeremiah. What she didn't expect was to find Magnus, her celebrety crush using the app.

Overall Thoughts: This novella is a quick read that will suck you in and have you turning the pages. Remy Blake is a fantastic writing pair who make it fun to read their work. I love how they made Magnus and Lucy as characters, and how they interacted with one another. I love how they brought to life the realness of character flaws with these characters, simple everyday things that we never really think about how they affect someone as a person. They made it easy to fall in love with Magnus and I am officially #TeamMagnusForever!

You know how you read the first book by an author (or a duo as is the case with Remy Blake) and then have the opportunity to read every release following it, you realize just how much better every new book has become? This is Remy Blake. I've followed their journey from the very beginning and with every new book i read from them, it just gets better and better. Like, give me more from these two, better.

I remember Lucy and mentions of Magnus from Clipped and i wondered if either would ever get their own stories, and in so many ways, i'm happier knowing that their story comes together in the way that it did because it made the story that much more captivating. These two characters were interesting, hilarious and the kind i wish i knew personally because i'm sure they'd be more than a hoot to be around.

This author duo is to be watched because trust me, their stories will stay with you even weeks later.

Timber is a short read but I truly enjoyed it. It is a cute, sweet and often sexy story.

Lucy is a very sweet character that has been very hurt by her past relationship. Mangus is a fitness model and lumberjack that craves the simplicity of life, who has also been very hurt by a past relationship. These two meet on a dating app and when they do, a very sweet story unfolds. Sometimes a little resistant to what fate has in store and this leads to an adorable story.

Timber was well written and the development of the plot was great. It was well executed and went along nicely, until the end. However, for me, the end seemed to be a little rushed and the dialogue was a bit on the “cheesy” side, but overall it was a cute story!

This was a really sweet story, and had some humorous moments. I liked getting to see things from Lucy’s POV, about Avery and Wes, her moms illness etc. Magnus is a sweetie, and I liked that he had a stutter which made him feel self conscious rather than being conceited about his fame and wealth. Moving on to Chase next!

This is my second Remy Blake book, and won't be my last. This book is in the same universe as Clipped. It is a standalone, but I definitely think it's better to read Clipped first since This book happens simultaneously (or in the middle of Clipped timewise) and expands on the couple in Clipped with what happens after. It's a light, fun book that made me smile and laugh a couple times, and I enjoyed the book thoroughly.

This story focuses on Magnus and Lucy. Lucy is a single mom with a few insecurities from a past relationship, but she is an older sister at heart, full of nurturing love for her family, taking care of all of them, self-reliant and reserved, and always focusing on others. Magnus is a good looking, rich guy, but also thoughtful and hard working, He and Lucy share an instant attraction that isn't initially acted on, which I liked. He took time to get to know her, breaking down her walls, and while there is a little instalove at play, it still felt real with all the talking and comfort between them. They seem like a real couple, one that could last.

Overall, I really loved this book! It's not super long, but long enough to describe the characters a little, give readers a taste of the other couple from Clipped, and give you a satisfying read that will make you smile as Magnus works his way into Lucy's life. They're a sweet couple, and while the story focuses on their courtship, that's fine by me since both have good jobs and are busy, and seem to have their lives together other than in the romance department. The writing is good, with a story that flows well, decent editing (a few grammar errors), and loveable characters. I definitely recommend it!

After a slew of teasers leading up to the release of Remy Blake's latest story "Timber", I was excited to read about Lucy - whose older sister Avery and partner Wes were the focus of "Clipped" - and the famous lumberjack Magnus Andersen. And it's safe to say I was not disappointed.

Lucy is a single mum to five year old Jeremiah and hasn't put herself first in years. Magnus is a local celebrity thanks to winning the previous year's Lumberjack competition and now being a fitness model and the face of dating app Timber (*cough* Tinder anyone *cough* lol). And when Lucy and Magnus start chatting the sparks start flying. Despite Lucy's insistence that anything with Magnus can only be "just sex" - because she doesn't have time for anything more - it's clear that Magnus isn't going to accept a purely physical relationship when Lucy makes him feel more than he has for a long time.

"When you know what you’re missing how do you push it out of your mind?"

It's Magnus' vulnerability and the fact he doesn't fit the cocky fitness model persona that makes him so endearing. I fell in love with Magnus as I read along with his navigation of a new (and initially unwanted) relationship with Lucy. And sorry Wes, I'm definitely #TeamMagnusForever

Jacob Chance and Marley Valentine (the Remy and Blake in Remy Blake) yet again give us a fast paced novella that is equal parts steamy and romantic. This writing duo work so incredibly well together and I'm busting to read anything and everything else they release.

The duo of Remy Blake have a real knack for writing quick, sexy, fun stories. Timber was very well written and had a flawless flow between the points of view of Magnus and Lucy.

Dating apps can sometimes be hotbeds for creepers and weirdos, but every now and then a real connection can be made. This is what happens for Lucy and Magnus. They have both been burned in previous relationships and neither had any intention of using the Timber dating app, but their individual circumstances made it a last ditch effort for them to find what they were looking for (no strings attached sex for Lucy and real companionship and a possible long-term relationship for Magnus).

Magnus is a successful business owner, fitness model, and professional lumberjack. He is handsome, sweet, honest, and awkward, which combine to make him one of the sexiest male characters I have had the pleasure to read about. He endeared himself to me from the beginning.

Lucy is strong, independent, and loyal. She is just trying to take care of her family the best she knows how. With everything going on her life, she gets little to no time to do things for herself. I loved seeing her come into her own more with regards to giving in to her own needs.

The two begin by messaging each other on the app. When they meet, Lucy is surprised that the person she has been communicating with is the real Magnus Andersen, who happens to be her celebrity crush. Their chemistry is instantaneous and so hot.

Although their schedules keep them from seeing each other as much as they would like, they make time to talk or text every day, strengthening their growing bond. Lucy is trying not to get attached to Magnus, while he is doing everything he can to make Lucy change her mind about their sex only deal.

Pick up your copy today to find out if Lucy keeps to her no relationship lifestyle, or if she chooses to join Team Magnus!

*REVIEWING FOR ROCK HARD ROMANCE*

'I know the rules Lucy, nothing but **x' (Magnus)
'So why are you trying to turn it into something else' (Lucy)

Another hot, funny story from this Male/Female Author Duo,who do write well together, alongside their own individual projects.
This follows the character's of Lucy and Magnus, who featured in the previous book (Clipped),told in DUAL POV's of course, and I would say in the same time frame as the previous, although, easily read as a Standalone.
The Prologue, with Lucy finding out she's pregnant to boyfriend David, and his reaction to that news (i.e he's a cheating a****le) who doesn't want the responsibility of fatherhood, means he's out the picture, and Lucy's a single mom...Go forward few years and she's busy raising her son, caring for her own mother with the return of Avery to help, she's wanting some no strings attached fun-hence the sign up to the 'Timber app' who Magnus is connected to.
I liked the banter between both leads, and of course the chemistry was obvious, with some hotness along the way,we get introduced to some new character's who could become subjects for more stories, and the inclusion of Avery and Wes was great. My only issue (and this is my personal opinion) the return of Douchbag David was over/settled a bit on the rushed side, and I actually felt it wasn't needed. However,it did not stop me from enjoying the story, and I look forward to seeing what this writing Duo have planned next.
