JUSTICE
I woke up to my roommate and best friend missing. In her place was a note on my bedside table that read: You can only find me with your eyes closed. No one thinks a note like that is meant for them. I knew it was meant for me, a clue, a way to seek Justice. Whoever left me that note was hoping I didn’t let my parent’s legacy die when they did. They wanted to see what kind of warfare I was capable of. Justice before starting a war with the man who wrote the rule book...

VICTORY
I woke up everyday to the same nonsensical bullshit that was my life. They say only bad things only happen after dark but I was the exception to every rule. I was bad and I happened whenever I wanted. I wanted someone to challenge me, put me in my place, force me to be better than war strategies and hold the audacity to traipse across enemy lines. A pink haired receptionist wasn’t my first choice for shaking my resolve. I can still smell her but I wanted to know if she’d taste like Victory. Death before dishonor meant not losing to her…

Elena Monroe grew up in Florida scribbling down stories from a very young age. These stories were really just wavy lines filling the paper, but she knew each word, each emotion, each character's name, and there was no tricking her into forgetting what each line signified. Just like her unconventional way of writing as a toddler Elena is setting her own rules and just telling stories.

Much like her debut novel, The Best Years, life certainly imitated art. Transplanting from the South to the East Coast, Elena currently lives in Connecticut with her new husband, reformed bad boy.

I am so in love with this story!
The Test is the second book in the 4 Horsemen and its about the Claves 'golden boy' Vic and Justice the pink haired receptionist, they're definitely a new favorite couple; they're truly made for each other! Vic and Justice's tension in this book was off the charts, every time these two were together and challenging each other I was on the edge of my seat. This is an enemies to lovers romance that has become one of my favorites, I love the way Vic and Jus always have to one up each other and need to have the last word. If y'all love a good dark enemies to lovers romance with steam and emotion, this one is IT. Love love love!

The Test is Book #2 in the 4Horseman series and I cannot sing enough praises for this book. It was beyond better than i expected.
After reading The initiation and getting a glimpse of Vic and Justice i was super intrigued by where their story would take me and they did not disappoint. In this book we get to see a completely different side to Vic and it blew my mind and made me love this story more, It had angst, it had sexy steam. I rode on a rollercoaster of feelings with this book but one thing i know is i absolutely loved Vic and Justice's story.
I cannot wait to read more in the 4Horseman series.
I cannot wait to read more books from this author as well.

We were more alike than we wanted to admit- just both on opposite sides of a battle.

4 stars!!

WOW. Just wow. Where do I even begin with Justice and Vic and their story? And everything woven between them? I loved how this was kind of an overlapping story of those gaps at the end of The Initiation. We get that time jump at the end, and The Test fills in those holes with Justice and Vic.

Now, I’m gonna be honest, it actually took me a bit to read this story. Why? I’ve got no freaking clue because I loved every second of it! No matter how long it took me though, the chemistry between them two was always palpable. Those two were the complete opposite but yet, the exact same. They are so expertly written, it's insane. They each had the same goal in mind, but getting there was the difference. Or was it?

Vic always had to wear this mask. He had to be the golden boy, the perfect son, the winner, the “no-nice-guy” kind of person. But that wasn’t him. He had to be who he thought the Clave wanted him to be, until he fell in love with a certain pink-haired girl who was beating him at his own battle and realized it’s ok with being who he wants to be.

Justice was a force. A girl that never took “no” for an answer. She was strong and sassy and a force on her own battlefield fighting her own wars. She always thought her battles needed to be fought alone, or with who she chooses to fight them with. Until Vic showed her that she can't always get what she wants. That it's ok to have someone by your side. Yet, that also goes with Vic as well.

I struggled with loving and hating both of them. Justice was always so impulsive, and I 100% get why, but I mean, when the Clave and the 4horsemen are involved, just leave it be. And Vic, with that stick up his a*s. Just let it goooo. But again, I understood why. And when he finally took those masks down, letting them crack and not caring to fix them, I freaking loved him. When they were together, they had a chemistry that would light US on fire. They were so hot, steam was just blowing off of them in every direction.

I’m so excited to see where Khaos and Bowen go in the rest of the series. I’m so curious about these two, probably the most I’ve been about characters in a while. Elena writes such intricate characters, all completely unique, and always wanting more from them. I completely recommend this book and this whole series!

I thought I loved Grimms story! Well Vic and Justice are two people that fight each other at every moment. Justice makes Vic want to take off his mask and stop being the golden boy of the Clave. They test each other. There's a push and pull with each other while also trying to make sure the cult doesn't off them. You get glimpses of the other guys throughout the books and I can not wait for Khaos!
Justices actions shows the guys that they need to start working together and become a unit. Just because the girls change the guys doesn't mean that cult blood doesn't run through their veins.
A 5 star read!

Again the refreshing take on these characters. I can't get enough. Vic and Justice are fire and ice. They're perfect for one another. This series is turning into an absolute favorite. I've read several books retelling the 4 horseman, but absolutely nothing like this. Dark romance at its finest

A golden boy with a mask so strong it never slips until Justice cracked it completely.

The Test by Elena Monroe visits the world of the 4horsemen again and this time it's Victory's turn. How I loved that man in the first book, The Initiation. His book was one of my most anticipated reads. And I desired it, even more, when Justice, the hippie kind of girl, would be there to break and capture this man's heart.

Justice and Victory who were painted as opposites found themselves in the other. Their relationship was filled with that fire cracking spirits and a boatload of chemistry and I couldn't get enough of the way it was portrayed. Justice is a fighter for her voice and her morals and Vic being a member of this crime organisation the Clave, they were bound to crash and look beyond the image one portrays.

The way to their HEA was filled with funny moments and heartbreaking ones as well. But it was a road of growing, learning and healing. And Vic just stole my poor lonely heart and we could all be a bit more like Justice.

But there were some things in the book that made me like it instead of love it. Their love story was detailed and written in-depth, but I believe that if you introduce a side storyline that it should just be as well development. And I missed that here. The storyline of the cult-like clave was rather pushed to the back and portrayed simply. It wasn't a strong storyline and it made the incredible love story weakened by it.

The Test by Elena Monroe has a strong love story with headstrong main characters whose fire is undeniable. The author's writing is magnificent as well. But it the end, I ended up liking it. It just wasn't as mind-blowing as I hoped it would be.

I didn't think this could be better then The Initiation ( Grimms Story ) but oh how I was wrong. Grimm completely had my heart and them vice just came and stole it like another one of his trophies. I'm blown away, I'm so invested into this series. It's so unique and Elenas writing blows me away. Her writing is very unique and it just captivated me. I couldn't put this book down, I was lost in this world and I've never read a book written like this. It was different and I loved it. I highly highly recommend, there's so much in this book and grimms that I loved. Drama, secrets and love. It was intense, especially the pull and push from Vic and Jus. Honestly you won't be able to pick a favourite within these boys. I was so in love with Grimm, he was complex and difficult. Grimm was just such an interesting, broken character. But after reading this, I'm now team vic all the way and I feel like my mind will continue to change.. I mean I'm still drifting towards bowen, I love mysterious, loner characters and he screams that.

Victory is conquest. He wins. He does not lose and he doesn't like losing. Until Justice. What a strong female character she was, she is the ultimate badass, so much better then Abigail ( even though I love her ) She was wild, a rebel. After her parents death she took her name seriously. In honor of her parents she became a justice warrior, protesting and helping but also having a wild streak that got her into a bit of trouble. She would not back down, she was feisty and a girl who knew what she wanted. She wasn't scared and took Vic by the balls. She was a match made in heaven for Vic. Their love was intense and magical and just meant to be. They were also extremely hot ( there are a few scenes in this book and just left me speechless. So so steamy ) After reading the first book I definitely gave Vic a bad wrap and I did not like him, but he was extremely misunderstood and I as a reader feel terrible for disliking him. He is precious and has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he carries it so well. Their personalities were like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly in place with each others. Justice was the best Victory..

Elena again with her writing set scenes so well. The setting and the feel in this book was so mysterious and gloomy, I didn't know what was going to happen or what was going to come out of khaos mouth next. All 4 men are incredible and I love love love ( slightly obsessed ) with the whole 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse thing. It was such a cool thing to write a book about and Elena has done it really well. After reading this, I've become so invested I went on a research spree and just wanted to learn everything to do with the 4 horsemen. This was an incredible story and I can't wait for what's to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vic and Justice

The Test by Elena Monroe is book two in the 4 horsemen series. Each book is about a new member, our members including Grimm, Vic, Khaos, and Boen.

This is Vic’s and Justice Story!

Starting the Test, I knew that this book was going to be addicting, it pulled me in and grasped my whole attention throughout. It consumed me, and wired me in like no other. When a book can do that, that is when you know that it is going to be a killer of a book.

There is so much yet to say about this book but I am gonna be very tight lipped on things as I don’t wanna ruin aspects of Vic and Justice Story. When I first met Vic in the previous book, he definitely lived up to his name being Vic the D. He was such a jerk, who I just wanted to punch in the face but whilst reading this book. Oh My God did my views change.

They changed for the better, this book pulled Vic right down to his inner core and revealed such a vulnerable side to him that I never expected him to have. He comes off as this alphahole type guy but in reality he actually is not. His the complete opposite, but then finding his person in justice really brought out the best in him, made him want to be better for her and made him go through a lot of self discovery.

Justice is literally goals, everything about her I loved. She wants what she wants, she believes in what she wants and is not afraid to speak her truth. She’s sassy, fiery and is quite frankly not afraid to put you in you’re place but above all that, she of course had her vulnerability parts that Vic was able to see straight away.

These two together, the games they played and how hungry they were for winning was what made these two a power couple. I loved watching them knock heads and go to battle.

It wouldn’t be a book without having all the hard crap and the twist and turns that give these two a rocky road to their happily ever after. Quite frankly, I did not see that twist coming, that completely blew my mind to smithereens. Love doesn’t come easy and this book is a true telling of that.

In my opinion, this book wasn’t as dark as the previous book and in a way that was what made this book stand out the most. I loved how it didn’t have all the necessary drama that quite frankly didn’t need to be there. This author balanced everything out perfectly and gave us everything that we love, crave and lust over in books.

Hands down to this author, for giving us such a riveting story that these two characters deserved. I can’t wait to see more from the author characters now.

Gimme Gimme More!!! (Was I singing Like Britney Spears when I wrote that, you bet I did).

Peace out!
