THE SACRIFICE: Secret Society Romance (4Horsemen Series Book 3) Kindle Edition
I’m not living under any kind of false pretenses here. I know I’m basically a rapper’s attitude with R&B feelings and a pop star’s bank account.
There were a lot of ways to describe my unconventional lifestyle of part time cult member and full time showman.
Risk taker.
Exuberant.
And my personal favorite adjective: undomesticated.
I surrounded myself with people who liked a good time but left after they served their purpose of making sure I felt nothing but top shelf feelings.
I wasn’t about to be like my brothers who let the darkness eat away at their vindication. The only crime I had ever committed was waving the glory of being invited, of saying I came and conquered around like a badge of honor.
Spoiler alert: None of that earned me respect.
There’s only one girl who managed to rob me of my fake smile… and my watch.
GRACE
I was a throw away, street trash, a child abandoned and scooped up by the bad people you only hear about after they get caught.
I was hard in a way people found uncomfortable and determined too much work to rehabilitate into society again. I was found guilty over and over enough to let the bad things become who I am, blurring the lines between freedom and a jail sentence.
Fraud.
Thief.
And my least favorite: fake girlfriend to a scary ass kingpin.
Forced out of a childhood I was surrounded by darkness, evil, and the kind of cutthroat loyalty that landed your body so mutilated they wouldn’t be able to tell who you were if you fell out of obedience.
They accepted me like family and there’s no quitting your family.
I had the respect to match my rap sheet.
There’s only one guy who managed to exonerate me… and my invisible wings.

About the author

Elena Monroe grew up in Florida scribbling down stories from a very young age. These stories were really just wavy lines filling the paper, but she knew each word, each emotion, each character's name, and there was no tricking her into forgetting what each line signified. Just like her unconventional way of writing as a toddler Elena is setting her own rules and just telling stories.
Much like her debut novel, The Best Years, life certainly imitated art. Transplanting from the South to the East Coast, Elena currently lives in Connecticut with her new husband, reformed bad boy.

Elena is a top notch author and has captured my heart with her completely unique characters, out of this world plotting and frequent surprises. I love that she is able to completely change the way you see a character from chapter to chapter, let alone book to book! 🤩
As for Khaos, he completely broke my heart at times, only to eventually repair it to a state somehow better than before. I loved that the endless depth of his character that hadn’t before been seen, I loved how untamed he was in the beginning, but my favourite part was watching him develop and grow as a character.
I loved Birdy, although my heart broke for her also, I think that her character was perfectly written to fit with Khaos.
P.S. I can guarantee you will not be prepared for how incredible that ending was, I know I sure as hell wasn’t! 🥺🥰
All in all, The Sacrifice was 100% worth the wait, with characters that were everything I needed them to be and more, an ending so sweet that it brought tears of joy to my eyes and most importantly, cemented the love and adoration I have for Khaos and the crew! 🤩
Thank you Elena for allowing me to get my hands on the arc copy of The Sacrifice to take part in reviewing, Khaos was well worth every minute of my time! 🥰
.
Intense, emotional, just the emotional ride alone had me at the edge of my seat, then add in the mystery and suspense and it makes for one tense read. But if you have read the series this far you are well aware of the trigger warnings and this one was no exception.
.
I knew going into this it would be heavy and I was right. Omg Khaos! So much depth, so much pain. I have never seen a character so broken and he is tragically captivating! The deeper we fell down the rabbit hole of Khaos the more my heart just broke for him and I didn’t want it to end! Khaos and Birdy, well to put it mildly, they are a hot mess but in both a tragic and beautiful way. Both equal counterparts in the fact they both have their fair share of issues but they also compliment each other so well. You wouldn’t think a feisty headstrong chick would balance Khaos with his chaotic impulse issues and damaged but she does and they work well as a couple.
.
I absolutely loved their characters and the world of this series. I have loved everything Elena has written. This series is so enthralling and captivated and demands attention, because you best believe that if you start there’s no coming back or even out for you.
.
This book will leave you shocked, emotional and at the edge of your seat till the very last page. Loved it! Can’t wait for Bowen and what he has to offer!
These guys are dark and intense and have a soft squishy center that only their woman can find !
Khaos is I different , only his soft squishy part is a lot bigger and softer then the others to start with and he finds his way to mould that into his true self with the help of birdie his tough as nails woman who needs to break out of a gang and into a cult !
Their story is a modern day (with some different twists ) Romeo and Juliet style tale , forbidden love with some drama, violence and other nasty stuff mixed in this author brings us back into a world where destructive behaviors are somehow hot and appealing and makes you want to become a bad ass and fit in .
I’m really looking forward to bOwens story !!
This book is a part of a series , it’s book 3 and I highly recommend reading Grimm and vic’s story before this one to fully understand what is going on .
This book may also have some triggers for some
People including violence to women and implications of rape .

He was the kind of guy you got lost in until it became addicting. Until all hope of a recovery or normal like was a lost cause.
I am absolutely obsessed, so full of emotions and thoughts, and just straight addicted to Khaos and his story. I loved every second of every minute of the tale that is of Khaos and Birdy. The third installment of the 4horsemen just got way better, and you’ll never want to stop reading. I’ve been wanting to read more about Khaos since the beginning, he’s always intrigued me with his chaotic self, and now that his story is out in the wild, I’m completely awe struck.
Khaos completely swept me from under my feet. He’s everything and more. He’s an absolute beautiful soul that just was too afraid to completely grow up. Khaos had this picture of how he thought life should be, how it should be lived, and no one could tell him otherwise. It was completely chaotic. He lived his life in all its chaotic form. But because of that, he wasn’t himself. He just did what people thought he did best: cause trouble.
Grace his Khaos’ perfect match. Honestly, she was everything he needed. She was living the same sort of broken life as he was, just in different ways. Birdy needed a sense of freedom, her wings were clipped. She needed to be set free and who is more perfect than having Khaos by your side when that's needed?
They both brought life back into each other's lives. I loved seeing them unravel, seeing how easy it was to just fall head over heels, despite everything, for each other. I mean, they don’t live the easiest of lives, but when they were side by side? So perfect. Don’t get me wrong, they had their fair share of struggles, the odds were completely stacked against them. But breaking the rules was easy for them. There's so much depth in this story that Elena just wrote so well. The way their journey was playing out, you honestly didn’t know where it was going to go. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time, going through so many emotions wondering what was gonna happen next. I’m still not over how palpable their chemistry was either. I mean, instant connection from the start. When two souls finally become one when making the first eye contact with each other. They were hot, beautiful, emotional. They were on fire. The horsemen just keep getting better and better, and all that's left from them is Bowen, and I can’t wait to see how his story unravels!

Khaos was born to throw the world into turmoil. I really thought we were going to get the fun party guy with little to no trauma from his past, but surprise!
Grace is strong, she feels like her wings have been clipped, and takes her one chance to fly, but in reality, it is caging her.
Khaos and Grace come from two completely different worlds, and opposites truly do attract. Having them refer to a modern day Romeo and Juliet is the perfect way to describe their relationship. They are magnetic and when they get together it is 🔥🔥🔥
I think The Sacrifice was the most gritty and emotional out of the 3 current books. Seeing what Khaos does to cover up his past, makes me want to reach out and squeeze him.
I am excited to read the next two books. I need to know more about Bowen. We have seen a little bit, but not enough to satisfy me. He is a complete mystery.

Khaos and Grace together are electrifying. They both have messed up back stories but are opposites. Khaos is rather refreshing with his non-alpha role which is the perfect match for Grace who is not timid at all. She is one bad$&s woman who leads a dangerous life. Don’t get me wrong - Khaos is a complicated character but you’ll have to read the book to understand.
So buckle folks because this book is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. The epilogue is hilarious especially regarding the young character called Mayhem.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 is the third book in “The 4 Horsemen” about Khaos, truly his namesake and your unconventional hero that’s part of a cult and Grace, just a badass heroine and gang member. Two very different worlds but their realities are very similar. I’ve been waiting for his story and I thought I was ready for him. Nope. I wasn’t. Such a complex book with several layers. It was a chaotic ride of twists and turns and passion and chemistry. And the epilogue was everything.
