Camille was a damsel, one who already had her white knight.

But I wanted her for myself.

So I took her.

Every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he wants. That's me.

The hero is a psychopath and does bad things, but he's also super lovable.
Loved the book, Celia Aaron is a great writer, it's not all about smut with her.

I give it a steam level of 4/5

One of the things I love most about reading is finding something to love despite not absolutely loving the story itself. Celia Aaron has a quirky and slightly dark way of looking at love in THE BAD GUY. For all intents and purposes, we should want to see her hero suffer, but I couldn't help but root for him to have a happy ending. Diagnosed as a psychopath, Sebastian has spent his life mimicking "normal" behavior, until he comes across Camille. He becomes obsessive and possessive and not even her boyfriend can keep them apart. Taking a page from one of my favorite tropes, Sebastian was the benevolent captor to his captive, Camille. Surely, given enough time, she too would see how perfect they were for one another.

And there lies my problem with this book. I was expecting it to be darker. This was more dark-lite. Sebastian, although crazily, insanely controlling and dominant, wasn't crazy or insane enough. I still really liked him. I liked that when he was with Camille he was finally able to experience what "normal" was. I truly enjoyed how he described how he was feeling, especially after never feeling anything before, whether it be love, hate or jealousy. The author created a wonder in Sebastian and maybe I wish there was more to the story so that it could develop into something darker.

Loved them both but I loved him the most...I mean really who wouldn't love a psychopath in love...oh sorry I meant who wouldn't love a psychopath with heartburn and indigestion! His thoughts made me howl. Great book 💕

The Bad Guy was an exceptionally well written standalone book; it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole read. I loved this book it made me feel happy, sad, and mad all at the same time. The hate/ love relationship that Sebastian Lindstrom and Camille Briarlane had for each other was maddening but phenomenal all at the same time. Celia Aaron did an amazing job with the storyline; I loved it.

Link took Camille to the Annual Lindstrom Gala where she met Sebastian. As Link and Camille were dancing Sebastian cut in on the dance and knew he had to have her right away. He ends up bugging her cottage, her best friend’s apartment and Link’s apartment. Camille is a botanical science teacher and wants to go to the Amazon over Christmas break, but Sebastian ends up kidnapping her when a limo pulls up outside her cottage to take her to the airport.

This is the first book I have read from Celia Aaron and I look forward to reading more books by her. I will definitely recommending this book to others to read.

Now the summary to me sounded interesting and the author came recommended so I got her book. After see the length though I wasn't as excited to jump in but for some reason found myself reading the first page of Chapter One. And well you might guess what happened next, literally the next thing I know I'm three chapters in and enthralled in the plot twists, the denial, but most of all the way Aaron writes the point of view of a psychopath. The tale was one of the most 'bewitching' I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
Celia- Nice twist of Beauty and the Beast😉

The Bad Guy was my first book by Celia Aaron, but will definitely not be my last. As soon as I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read this book! I was not disappointed! I absolutely fell in love with Sebastian. He is my favorite psychopath by far! I loved everything about this story. The characters were amazing, and the story line intense. If you love dark romances, do yourself a favor and read this book!

To start, I read ALOT and never write reviews but had to for this book. This is my first read for Celia but will not be my last. I totally thought I would hate Sebastian but fell for him right along with her totally worth the read

If Sebastian is the bad guy, then we all need to meet a bad guy like him. Sebastian doesn't really connect emotionally with anyone until he meets Camille. She makes him feel, really feel and this fascinates him. An unusual relationship begins but there's no doubt Sebastian worships Camille. Sebastian wants Camille to realize he is the white knight, not the villain. Beautiful writing, the story is even better than you can imagine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sebastian being a literal psycho drew me like a moth to a flame

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! This is my first book by Celia Aaron and I loooove her writing style. I have never read a book where the H is a psycho, literally- someone who lacks empathy. I’m so glad I dove into this book! The heat from the H and the h alone sold me.

We first meet Sebastian and Camille leading separate lives. Camille is with Link and has been with him for a little while. She attends a work function and that’s where she meets the hot-as-sin Sebastian. Sebastian is enthralled by her, and because he’s diagnosed as a psycho, he can’t stop looking at her (to the point where people feel the awkwardness). Side note- I love Sebastian’s stream of consciousness- it allows us to explore the state of mind of his psychotic behavior. I especially appreciate the flashbacks to his childhood and traumas- again, all of this added dimension to his character; plus, it gave us insight as to why he behaves a certain way or what his motivations to do things are. Camille admits to herself that there’s something intriguing about him, but she has Link, her white knight- the man that’s been there for her after losing her parents. Regardless of the time they’ve been together, she can’t move forward with him- they haven’t been intimate. There’s something holding her back. She would have never guessed that she needed a little bit (or maybe a lot of bit lol) of darkness to really succumb to the pleasure achieved through intimacy.

Sebastian is a successful man; he’s actually Link’s boss. He maneuvers himself to steal a dance from Camille (meanwhile, Link is uncomfortable and notices how he looks at her). As they’re dancing, he takes advantage of their private time and discusses her interests and goals in life. She’s a science high school teacher who is all about plants (botany). This piques Sebastian’s interest and uses it to his advantage when he kidnaps her. Which he does.

When Camille gets a call that she will be able to travel to the Amazon and conduct research, she is ecstatic! This was a dream of hers, one she mentioned to Sebastian (and one Link doesn’t fully support). She doesn’t realize that all of this is a ploy in order for Sebastian to kidnap her. Which he does.

In her “prison,” Camille can do whatever she wants, as long as she stays on the property. She doesn’t have any contact with the outside world, but she’ll always have contact with Sebastian. Sebastian would move heaven and hell to make her happy, except let her go. In his mind, they’re meant to be, no matter how many times he has to clip her wings.

Oh Sebastian. What an intricate character you are. He’s seductive and intuitive when it comes to attracting Camille and giving her what she needs (😉). Their attraction is intense. It’s raw, visceral, sexy, palpitating and delicious. He’s patient with her and only pushes her so much, especially when it benefits both. Although she fights him (oh man, does she fight him! Those were my favorite scenes) she can’t help but feel that stomach-plunging, moth-to-a-flame connection to Sebastian. I mean, even I had my breath stolen as I was reading. It was scrumptious and explosive *chef’s kiss*. The heat level and sexy times were nuclear. I loved every single moment.

I highly recommend this book. Be aware, there are some dark themes, but nothing too intense.

This book had everything, it was a slow burn at first but as soon Camille was in the limo- what a story!!

Some parts like the botany talk & the story lines of Mint & Link I had to skim over, as I wanted to get the best parts!!

Need more stories like this!! I especially enjoyed how Sebastian & Camille made deals with each other ;)

Well what can I say? This book ticked all of the boxes for me, I couldn’t put it down!

Sebastian is the delicious bad guy and he sets his sights on camilla and it’s game on. He decides to kidnap her (yep that’s the logical thing to do in his mind) and the fun ensues from there.

The character progression, dialogue and spice were so good! I was with the characters every step of the way dying to see what would happen next.

This is a dark romance so make sure you check your triggers.
