The Thing About Love (Imperfect Love) Kindle Edition
The whole stethoscope-and-white coat thing isn't my cup of tea.
I prefer a man with an artistic vein in his body. 9 - 5 hours. And I can definitely do without the half-lidded, sleepy bedroom eyes. (Okay, so those are kind of sexy.)
Tall, dark, and handsome doesn't change the fact that he's arrogant, cocky, and rude.
Not that I care, but he's made it clear he wants nothing to do with a quirky girl like me, which is why he said no.
Turns out no isn't an option.
I have a quickie wedding to plan, and Dr. Jake Kissinger doesn't have a choice. He looks at our situation like he's stuck with me, but in reality, I'm stuck with him. Stuck with his pouty mouth. His long, lean body. And stuck with those loose, low riding scrub pants. (Okay, so the doctor thing is growing on me.)
When spending time together turns into more than it should, I know I'm in trouble.
He isn't supposed to make my heart pound.
I'm not supposed to make him look twice.
And we aren't supposed to spend the night together. (Okay, so he has more than one artistic vein in his body, and other places.)
Falling for him is definitely a mistake.
Here's the thing...
Jake is unavailable, and I know it.
Just not in the way you might think.
I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Five Amazing Stars
I was absolutely thrilled to enjoy this wonderful new romance written by one of my favourite authors, Kim Karr. This wonderful medical tale involving such a gorgeous most sexiest doctor. I was just so excited to read this excellent book!
Jules Easton was so very stressed. She’s is trying to convince herself to relax, to be calm. She knew herself that she was planned and ready to meet this woman for the meeting that was previously arranged. This woman who was now engaged to the son of a Governor. To be their Wedding Planner. Jules was still amazed and completely surprised and shocked about this wonderful chance to work with famous or even well known people.
Dressed so confidence ready for her first meeting. Walking down the street seeing these gorgeous, attractive homes where Jules was to meet Rory Kissinger at the Bride Box, a most wonderful Wedding Bakery itself. Jules was filled with complete excitement smelling all the gorgeous flavours.
She was formally greeted by Montgomery, a well dressed mature man. Who was very sweet and congenial towards the ladies. It was together that both Montgomery and Jules would enjoy a piece of this fabulous chocolate cake before she meet up with the Wedding Party.
I thoroughly adored this most wonderful, most romantic, fabulous book. I loved all the amazing characters throughout. Couldn’t once put this book down. It was simply such a brilliant book to enjoy. Well done Kim Karr!!!!
* I recommend this book to everyone!!
Guilt & abandonment can change how we see our world & taint our perceptions of love.
"I’d learned that love wasn’t just one thing . . . it could be many things. It could or could not conquer all. It could be patient or impatient. It could be kind or ugly. It could be happy and it could be sad."
Definitely recommend
A grumpy doctor who doesn't want to be near her. The wedding planner who doesn't believe in love any more.
Yep, you can just feel right from the first slice of cake that there is going to be sparks between our lovelies.
I adore our lovely wedding planner Jules. She is completely adorable in her slightly clumsy ways. I couldn't help but love her.
Jake.. le sigh. He made me want to get sick so I could go find him at my local ER!
There are great secondary characters rounding out Jake and Jules' story. I freaking love love love Monty and Archer and they need their own book stat!
There is also Jule's cousin Finn and her ex Jaxson that I need more of - soon.
There is just something about this story that I loved. It is not something I can put my finger on and say "that's it!". The Thing About Love just as a wonderful vibe about it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the first word to the last.
I wanted more.
Please give me more, Ms Karr. And don't make me wait too long (I know, greedy and impatient here!!)
I look forward to seeing what Ms Karr brings us next.
Jules is the most loveliest person anyone is likely to meet. She loves planning weddings, although not very well when it comes to financial matters! So when she is asked to do the big “Kissinger” wedding it’s gonna be make or break.
Jake Kissinger’s (Aka Dr. Kiss) first meeting with his sister’s wedding planner doesn’t quite go the way it should ..... no spoilers, I’m not telling you why lol!!!
The chemistry between the two becomes apparent straight away, and the sexual tension is off the scale, and the hate relationship they start out with is slowly breaking down.
The other characters in this book are what also make this a brilliant read, and the eccentric grandmother “Mimi” is a hoot.
Like always, when I get so gripped by a book, I couldn’t put it down and also got emotionally involved. And of course this was no exception.... at one point the tears were flowing (no brainier for me). But I carried on through my tears to read a well written beautiful book.
And to my surprise I find out there is going to be more books from the other characters, yay can’t wait!
Books after fifty
I enjoyed the story line of this book, and I even got a kick out of the secondary characters! I am definitely no prude, but sometimes the intimacy in these books are repetitive and tiresome. I like a good build up, slow burn and all, but sex scene after sex scene is too much. I just end up skimming through it. This contemporary romance is told in dual POV and it sets up nicely for two extra standalone novels to be released at a later date.
*I am grateful for an early copy that was provided by the author for an honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised the amount of emotion this story brought out of me. I was laughing at times, swooning at other times, and also crying my eyes out. I think what took me by surprise the most was the background story of Jules and Jake….I wasn’t expecting the topic it covered. This story was both heart wrenching and heart warming.
The Thing About Love is Kim Karr’s newest standalone novel in her newest series. Each book is going to focus on a new character/couple, but we do meet all the other characters in this story. This is an enemies to lovers story and is told in Dual POV. I thought the pace and flow of the story was perfect and I couldn’t help but get swept up in the storyline. I loved the characters that we met….not only Jules and Jake, I loved the secondary characters as well. They all played an important part in this novel.
We follow Jules and Jake’s journey to finding love and forgiveness. Jules is a woman trying to run and takeover her Uncle’s wedding business and is having a hard time with it. Jake is a local ER doctor who would do anything for his sister Rory, except maybe hire the wedding planner she wants….Jules. To say that Jules and Jake’s first meeting was stress filled and also filled with misunderstanding is an understatement. But when Jake’s failing grandma requests that they move Rory’s wedding up so she can be there, Jake knows he has no other choice but to hire Jules. What happens from here is an entertaining and swoony story about two people learning to open up. Can Jules and Jake work out their differences?? Will these two ever find their HEA?? Read this fun filled but also emotional romance story.
I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. I think once you pick up this book, you will find it hard to put down. You will also become invested in the characters and storyline. If you are already a fan of Kim Karr’s writing then you don’t want to miss her latest masterpiece!!!!

Jules was a wedding planner. Her first meet and greet with a high end client went wrong very quickly. However; she was able to recoup her chance at keeping her client.
Enters Jake. He’s actually the reason the meet and greet went sour. But through a series of events she ends up having to work with the sexy Dr. Jake Kissinger in order to pull off the wedding of her career, not to mention in record time.
Jake was a fascinating character. Sexy, and cheeky with his attitude sometimes bordering on quiet arrogance. He was the Ying that kept this story alive. His character was strong willed, good looking, sexy, witty, and it didn’t hurt to have the Dr. McSteamy factor in play. He was every girls wish list.
I felt the storyline was cute, and I loved the romantic vibe between the couple. Definitely your HEA.
Personally, one of the greatest and most heartwarming plots in the story was circled around Jake and Jules 9-11 past. The amazing realization of their cosmic connection had me tearing up. I teared up more than once during this read.
All in all it was a good, sexy, and romantic read. I kept picturing Jake exactly as the cover, which made imagining Jakes character a breeze.
I give this book a 3.75 to 4.0 stars. The only reason is because Jules character seemed to lack focus at times. Without Jake her character didn’t seem to stand on her own very well. It didn’t dampen it enough that I didn’t enjoy the book.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I truly enjoyed it.
This is a heart stopping emotional read that is so full of emotion that I cried at a few points in this story. This author also made this a laugh out loud comedy in parts that were hysterical. The characters Jake and Juliette are fabulous. Both a little broken but not so imperfect that they can't see what is in front of them. You must read this book and follow these characters through their healing process and finding love and hope in their lives. There is a great cast of characters that I absolutely loved and I can hardly wait to hear their stories. All iin all this was a fun emotional well written book.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick short sexy and emotional read, this author is new to me but one will be coming back for.
