Love knows no age limits; Olivia is now legally single, her sisters are determined to get her back in the game, when she comes face to face with her hot as sin neighbour that is way to young for her and wants nothing more than 1 night with him making him her number 2.

Joel has been biding his time for the past year, he knew that she needed time and now that he has a chance he is going to make the most of it but when she pushes him away he is taken back. Joel has other responsibilities ones that he can’t walk away from even if he knows that he being manipulated he can’t help but jump straight in and help.

Olivia has a choice to make while Joel has to stand up and take charge. Can they sort all their issues out and be the couple they both want to be?

Joel and Olivia have amazing chemistry, from the moment they were together they were meant to be regardless of what was going on in each other’s lives or age.

Laine is a new to me author and I enjoyed reading this story, I hope read more from this author in the future.

Although I’m usually not a fan of age-gap stories, I wasn’t bothered by the age difference in this book because both characters were already adults and the gap was not even a decade. It was also mostly a lighthearted, easy and fast read. I enjoyed it a lot but it took me a while to get into it at first.

The Story:
Instead of starting a family with her husband like Olivia planned to do, she found herself childless with thirty-five and divorced to a cheater. After her birthday celebration with her sisters, she drunk-stumbles into the arms of her hot young neighbor who more than brought her home safely. Despite her attraction to him and her new state of being single Olivia can’t give in to Joel because of their age difference. But he doesn’t care that she was older than him and is determined to make her see that age is just an insignificant number when it comes to feelings.

Thoughts:
Joel was sweet and such a humble person. I liked that we got to know his family and got to admire even more how he made something of himself without the help he could have gotten.
While Olivia’s story was rather predictable, I was surprised about other secondary characters and their role in this book. What I really loved was how her ex-husband wasn’t painted as the bad guy despite his faults, cheating and lying ways. Which sounds worse written like that than it was, because despite what he did I understood his hurt. Although I didn’t approve of his actions I felt for him in a way. The same goes for Calli, a person who had a tough life and who was used by others but although she didn’t accept the offered help and may have had it worse because of it and hurt others in the process, my heart ached for what she had been through.

So, I hope I didn’t spoil too much now but I just had to tell you how much I loved that there was more to the story than the obvious romance part and that it wasn’t all black and white. Sometimes there are no drawers or labels that fit and people have to adapt to situations just as they come.

Olivia was a 35 year old woman who were still struggling to move on after separating from her husband and childhood love who cheated on her. I could feel and angst and heartbreak that Olivia went through. Can you imagine your first love (first and only everything) cheating on you multiple times? Corey was not portrayed as an evil ex. He was a sad and desperate man who went through with unforgivable actions. It would have been easy for this author to turn this book into a second chance/redemption romance. I’m very glad she took another route❤️

Joel was the younger tattooed hottie who had been getting to know Olivia for about a year as friends. He loved her but was always too afraid to admit it. He also had quite a bit of drama going on in his personal life. Joel was no typical playboy. He was strong, loyal and incredible sweet. A perfect hero that Olivia needed.

I understand that Olivia felt the need to date after her separation because of her lack of experience. However, she kept thinking about Joel the whole time. She was way too caught up on being a cougar (I mean come on we are talking only 7 year difference people). I also wish the sex scenes had a bit more chemistry/intensity.

No spoilers but one thing in the epilogue really shocked me. I did not expect to hear that in what I considered a light hearted book. Otherwise It was exactly what I needed.

I hope the authors plans to write stories for the other brothers❤️❤️

This is definitely a more sexy and funny story! A quick read too that will have turning those pages to see if Olivia and Joel can get past those differences! Olivia is 35 and single likes her neighbor, Joel, who is younger than her but has a hangup about the age difference. He doesn’t but getting her to get past it is going to take some work. You’ll find yourself really liking Joel and hoping it all works out in the end. A few surprises a long the way that will have you hoping you get more from the side characters too!
