BESTSELLER IN WOMEN'S CRIME FICTION!
BESTSELLER IN ROMANTIC SUSPENSE!

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new standalone, full-length romantic suspense novel.

Eli Jackson. Rugged and broody, he's had my attention since high school.
I've hardly spoken to him, too nervous to get a word out whenever he's near.

Until one night when he helps me out of a situation.
I manage to worm my way into his life, and slowly all my dreams start to come true.

A horrific attack shatters my life. I wasn't supposed to survive, and now I depend on Eli for my survival because I'm the only witness who can identify the killers.

Never in a million years did I think the man of my dreams would be the one to glue my pieces back together.
But with the lingering threat, can Eli protect me when my nightmares return to silence me?

Previously published as 'REDEMPTION.'
I've written a brand new story for Eli and Quinn, with a new title and cover.

This was one of the most breathtakingly beautiful love stories I’ve read. I was surprised when I saw that book 2 was Cara/Nina & Damian/Alex’s, f/book 1, son! Eli was just as amazing as his dad. I loved reading book 1, but I totally fell in love w/book 2.
Quinn went through hell when she was shot & had to watch her best friend Katie & Katie’s family get killed right in front of her. She survived the attack, but the real struggle was surviving afterwards. Eli was beyond amazing. He was patient, gentle when she needed it & firmer when she needed to be pushed. But it was Nina I think who was exactly the voice & mother she needed the most.
This story was devastating, emotional, raw, & intense. I laughed at times, but I had tears in my eyes a lot too. Especially when Quinn was talking to Katie in her dreams. I absolutely devoured this book & fell in love w/Eli & Quinn. She was his treasure & he treated her exactly as that. And the epilogue was the best! It was beautiful, touching & sweet!

Eli and Quinn grow up in a small town. They slowly find their way to each other. Tragedy occurs and it's heartbreaking. I wish the story was longer and fuller. I appreciate the transition of time but I'm greedy. Truly a great series.

Wow, there is not a book written by Author Michelle Heard that I haven’t absolutely loved!!! I loved both Eli and Quinn, and while their story is also devastating and traumatic, it has been written with a dark careful sensitivity that doesn’t make it overly descriptive, but still left me with such a broken heart and tearful for Quinn’s loss.

BEAUTIFULLY HURT can be read as a complete stand-a-lone, and for a bit I did think it was unconnected to BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, until Eli’s mother talks with him about how he can love and support a traumatised Quinn. This was my aha(!) moment and I realised that Alex and Nina Jackson, Eli’s parents, were the new assumed names of our couple from BROKEN.

Quinn was quiet and shy, and she’d crushed on Eli for so many years, barely believing it when Eli noticed her working in the flower shop opposite his parent’s hardware store. Their relationship was definitely a slow burn due to her shyness and then the trauma, but Eli’s love and protection was almost a character unto itself, a character trait his father also carried. For me there was so many moments of grief and of healing that it turned into a tear-fest. One of my favourite quotes from Eli relates to his parents’ book:

“I live you, Quinn.” Glancing up, I say, “I’ve heard your parents saying that to each other.”“Yeah, Dad says love is too much like hate. It comes and goes, but you only get one life. You’re the one for me in this life, so I live you.” 😭😭😭

I just loved the whole feel of this book. While Alex and Nina’s story totally broke my heart, it was Eli and Quinn’s story, while no less devastating, that had a healing vibe about it. And I believe it is because I got to see that Eli’s parents had continued to heal and grow, raising a family with two very honourable awesome young men that are as protective, supportive and loving as their father. That is a life well-lived. That is a life spent well-loved.

Ms Heard also introduced the characters in her next book, BEAUTIFULLY DESTROYED. It also will be a stand-a-lone with connected characters, being Finlay, Quinn’s cousin, and Ethan, Eli’s brother. I know my heart will again be broken, but it doesn’t dent my anticipation one iota. 5-Stars for this book that hurt my heart, and a recommendation to read it, and to also check out the first book, BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN 💔°*🖤*°

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers, as there are reoccurring characters and overarching themes.

⛔️ Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes and violence such as attempted kidnapping / abduction, assault, torture, rape, murder, drugs, theft, mental and physical abuse, etc.

There are a few grammatical issues, but they are minimal, mainly misspellings and incorrect word choice. Otherwise, this is a really well developed and written story, with dark themes but lots of emotion. I especially find the family saying “I live you” vs “I love you.” Just read the story and you will understand …

I didn’t consider this enough to lower the rating since I enjoyed the strength and resilience of the characters, but there is one blatant and obvious error, the first I have found in a Michelle Heard story, and frankly I am surprised that it wasn’t caught by editing or beta readers. During one of the scenes in the later part of the story, two characters are having fun in the showed without clothes, get out, decide to move into the bedroom and despite being wet get on the bed … then have to remove the rest of their clothes … 🤣

This story begins for the most part 20+ years after the first story in the series. It features Eli, the son of Alex and Nina Jackson, and Quinn, his best friend. They meet when he helps save her from being harassed by a guy who she went to school with as she walks home from work. There is a dark stretch until she makes it to the local gas station, so right before she gets there she is accosted by Steve. He wants her to “hang out” and loosen up.

Quinn has no desire to do either, so when she sees Eli leaving the gas station she decides to approach him and hope that he will play along. So she kisses him lightly on the lips and he acts like she was meeting him and he drives her home. She is nervous as she knows his reputation of helping and protecting others, but she had never talked with him before.

Eli is quiet, kinda gruff, but when he shows up the next morning and starts helping repair a few things that needed it, Quinn quickly decides they are friends. Fast forward 2 years and Quinn is tired of waiting for Eli to look at her as more than a sister, so she starts dating a local guy who is nice. He doesn’t make her feel what Eli does, but she does love him, so she says yes when he proposes.

One night when she stayed over to help his mom make her wedding dress, Quinn heard some noises and then yelling. She quickly realized that someone had broken into the house and was fighting with her fiancé and maybe even his mother. She hides and calls her best friend, Eli. She talks to him they enter the room. Then they find her under the bed.

Eli is crushed when Quinn starts dating and then gets engaged to another man. He waited too long. Then he gets a phone call that she is in trouble … as he speeds his way there, he can hear what is happening as she screams, fights and cries. Life would not be worth anything if his sunshine got hurt … heaven help them if they continue trying to take her, he would burn the earth down to find her …

I enjoyed Predator so much I got the next in the series...I felt like Predator was getting my money's worth...this one, not so much...I liked the characters and I enjoyed reading the series I will finish it up, I just wish the their was more In Redemption. If the book is only 75% of what I'm buying I want more to it, I don't want chapter of Predator as a sneak peak because I all ready have the Kindle version of that...

I’ve expect more depth due to the situation, it’s just my taste when it comes to sensitive plots like that , but in no way this book disappoints. It’s beautiful and the characters are amazing.
It could be a really dark book, but Michelle make it lighter and didn’t sugar coat anything. It was really good

I couldn't wait to read this book. Predator was one of my favourites by Michelle Horst. This book was about Cara and Damian/ Alex's children. I devoured it in one go. It was beautifully written. I loved finding out more about Cara and Damian/Alex and their sons...

Eli and Quinn meet by chance and from that day are inseparable. Neither of them want to ruin their friendship and hide how much they love each other..

Time goes by and Quinn meets someone. She feels that Eli only sees her as a sister and wants to settle down...

Eli believes he's lost the love of his life forever...

Then tragedy strikes and Quinn's whole world is thrown upside down. She will never be the same...

Can Eli save her? Will he get a chance to show Quinn how much she means to him?

Gut-wrenching, soul- piercing, beautiful story about healing.

Every once in awhile you find a story that utterly destroys you. This is one of them!

I didn't think my heart could take anymore after reading Alex and Nina and I was right.

Eli and Quinn broke me..

I cried, I fought back ugly tears as I forged my way through the utter devastation that this story brought. I didn't think I'd make it to the end without anymore tears falling.

Pulling you into the depths of every emotion and pain, each chapter captivates you in a way you need to keep going.

Prepare for ugly tears, heartbreaking pain and utter swoon as you fall in love with Eli and Quinn.

Ethan will have you swoon, fall in love and swoon all over again as he brings life back to Quinn.
