I thought that this book was very well written. It didn’t have that je ne sais quoi that elevates a book to being an absolute favourite of mine, but I can’t necessarily think of anything that I would consider a fault. AJ and Adam were great characters. They had great back stories, as well as present day interactions. I don’t know if I would say that I found this book to be particularly funny, but it was definitely interesting and engaging. It was filled with depth and plot lines that kept me guessing. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I definitely did not find the storyline to be predictable. There were a number of surprises along the way. Fortunately, I didn’t find the book was filled with too much angst, which is a good thing for me. It was gripping and filled with emotion, but it wasn’t over the top dramatic.

A hot read. A little long but enjoyable. The story revolves around Adam and AJ. She has been Adam’s assistant for the last 5 years. Their love story is a slow burn, a bit too slow. Opposites attract for the most part. One night, after AJ found her finance with another woman she ran to Adam for help. This is where their relationship started but as I said, it took a long time to actually ignite. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from HiddenGems

A sexy, emotionally charged read

Wow, another great book in the Irresistible Series! This is book 6 and whilst it could be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the prior book 'Now or Never' first which is the story of Adam's sister Holland and Iain. It provides some good backstory into their family situation and explanation for why Adam so often reacts and behaves as he does.
This was an emotionally charged and gripping tale. You could really feel the chemistry between these two, although I didn't always feel comfortable with what they got up to whilst at work...! AJ finds her fiance cheating and now can no longer deny the feelings and attraction she feels towards her boss. Adam comes across as self assured however he harbours plenty of demons from his past and I loved discovering all of the secrets that finally came to light. I must admit it took me a little bit to warm up to these two, but then I became invested in their journey and was eager to see how things would work out. I adored the ending and now can't wait for more from this highly talented author.

This one had a lot of tension building in it before it even started from the previous book. Adam and AJ have been coworkers and friends for years. Their relationship works where AJ busts her ass as Adam’s assistant, and Adam respects her for all she does. Everything is fine until one night AJ’s fiancé’s true colours are revealed and lines are blurred between Adam and AJ. Now there is a ton of sexual tension that was not there before, and there is no closing the door to these thoughts and actions now that it was busted wide open!

This was a great ending to the series. We get a lot of secrets revealed, lots of tension and steamy scenes, and revisiting of past characters that give you the warm and fuzzies. I thoroughly enjoyed this series!

Oozes Chemistry and Tension!

While I didn't enjoy the last book in the series, the little moments we saw of these two there had me dying to see what their story would be. And it certainly didn't disappoint!

Talk about CHEMISTRY! The tension is great and you really see the strong foundation these two have. They have this great friendship and mutual respect for each other that makes their love all that much sweeter. I loved their banter and their ability to communicate with each other.

My only "issue" was that I did struggle with some of the pacing though the dramatic elements. It just felt a little long overall. Like we danced around certain things for too long, particularly at the start, and that made the ending a little rushed.

Gosh! I keep falling in love with these couples that Stella Rhys creates.

I was super eager for Adam & AJ's story since Holland began dropping hints in "Now Or Never". I was not, however, prepared for how blown away I would be by how hot and tender their story would be.

"Everyone has a past. Doesn't mean we have to live in it."

In Reckless, we properly meet the brother that Holland adores, but at one time struggled to keep in her life. As his story unfolds, Rhys slowly but surely peels back the layers, giving us Adam's side of the story. His ability to shoulder all the emotional pain of his past and still be a functional adult amazes even AJ, who thinks that after 5 years, she knows everything there is to know about her cocky, yet endearing boss.

"I thought we were just as close as we could be as friends. A boss and assistant."

When a weekend in Palm Springs changes their relationship in and out of the office for good, the pair are left scrambling for a way to define their new normal as the reckless attraction between them reaches epic levels. AJ is forced to admit that her attraction to her boss never died, while Adam is hit with the realisation that after 5 years, he cannot live without AJ - he loves her.

"I was playing with fire. Being totally reckless. And as always, I knew better."

I loved their easy banter, and the way that Adam never once asked AJ to give up her dreams to keep her by his side. He truly appreciated her, and his every action showed that. And I liked that even when things got weird or bad, they knew to give each other space, then try to work things out until they got back to normal, instead of completely giving up.

"... we had always been complete. But now we were whole."

I really enjoyed this book. I wholeheartedly, unreservedly recommend it. In-between the emotional pulls of the novel, Stella Rhys delivered a steamy romance that was a delight.

Freakin’ fabulous story. One of my favourite reads of the year!

AJ Tan has been Adam Maxwell's right-hand woman for five years. He might look like God's gift to women, but AJ got over her crush within weeks of working for him, and now they work perfectly in tandem together. However, one life-changing moment for AJ has them suddenly looking at each other in a completely non-professional way. One dramatic weekend has their dynamic changing and the sexual tension between them escalating, until the lines are so blurred that they soon find themselves redefining their relationship.

"I spend half my day trying to get you out of my head and the other half just letting you [...] own every inch of my brain space."

Gaaah! I just loved this story so much and I didn't want it to end! It was funny, HOT AF and tugged at the heartstrings. I want to be AJ when I grow up! She's smart, sassy and more than able to handle herself - and Adam. He has huge respect for her and recognises that he owes a lot of his success to her, even though she likes to give him a hard time. I loved the ever-shifting dynamic in their relationship, as they try to deny what's between them but seem completely incapable of sticking to their previous script. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I found Adam's dirty mouth thrilling and I absolutely loved that he wasn't shy about the things he wanted to do to AJ!! *fans self* And, she gave as good as she got! LOL. I adored that beneath Adam's cocky, uncompromising veneer beat the heart of a man who was vulnerable, loyal, protective and so caring. He carried some deep hurts and my heart melted as he shared so much of himself with AJ. I love this author's writing style. I just knew this book was going to be fabulous and she thoroughly delivered!

I’ve been searching for a good romance book for a while now. This one is not only cute, but down to earth, realistic and has just the right amount of spice.
So many books are written with a billionaire drop dead gorgeous man in it. While the look department can be buyable, I absolutely LOATHE books where it’s all about not having to worry about money because he’s basically Bruce Wayne. It’s just not realistic. But this one is really good. And good humor too.
