Exposé Top Story: Best Making Headlines
The temperature skyrocketed in Chicago this week and it had nothing to do with the weather. Our two favorite ballers went head-to-head (or should we say helmet-to-helmet?) on the practice field and there’s video to prove it.

Sources tell us the (sweaty, aggressive, hot-as-heck) fight that got Branch “Lucky” Best, Finn Miller, and visiting Columbus quarterback Callum Worthington ejected from practice (you must see this video!) was not over a fumbled play. It was over nothing less than Layla James Miller, Finn’s younger sister.

Does Layla’s name sound familiar? It should. Until about five minutes ago, you could find her on Callum’s well-formed arm . . . until he gave us whiplash showing up in Tahiti with the face of Ares Cosmetics, Carly Mathewson. But Callum and Layla aren’t dating anymore, so where’s the beef?

Give us a sec.

Layla James is now
scoring with Branch. Yeah. We’ll give that a minute to sink in.

Word has it Finn isn’t all that hyped about his sister
playing ball with his (former?) best friend. Branch’s playboy image is well-known and even better documented. A keyword search of his name on our site alone brings up thousands of hits of him with women and rarely are two the same.

The question remains: why does Callum care?

We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, we’ll be crying in our champagne and hoping our favorite bromance gets back on track. (And, seriously, go watch that video!)

USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke delivers a "sweet & steamy!" tale of a football hero, his best friend's little sister, and a surprise that might be an interception ... or a Hail Mary.

USA Today Bestselling author, Adriana Locke, writes contemporary romances about the two things she knows best—big families and small towns. Her stories are about ordinary people finding extraordinary love with the perfect combination of heart, heat, and humor.

She loves connecting with readers, fall weather, football, reading alpha heroes, everything pumpkin, and pretending to garden.

Hailing from a tiny town in the Midwest, Adriana spends her free time with her high school sweetheart (who she married over twenty years ago) and their four sons (who truly are her best work). Her kitchen may be a perpetual disaster, and if all else fails, there is always pizza.

I've been Branched by the Best!

I've been Branched by the Best!
Well, well, well. Adriana has gone and done it again with Lucky Number Eleven. I feel more than lucky that she brought us Branch Best, a hot, sexy as hell, swoonworthy football player. Ladies be prepared because his sassy mouth and hot as sin smirk will have you fanning yourself for hours!Layla is an independent, smart, funny woman that does not have trouble gaining the affections of hot athletes. She has a fierce drive and determination to be successful, not wanting to rely on a man to carry her through life. Her sense of humor was great. I found myself laughing out loud at the witty banter between her and Branch. She did not back down and I absolutely loved that about her. I think it's safe to say she is one of my favorite characters that Adriana has written.Branch, Branch, Branch. He is fabulous! Okay, so he's a ladies man, just like many of his teammates on the football team. There is never a shortage of female attention where he's concerned. Regardless, let me tell you that you will not be able to resist his charm. You will fall head over heels for him like all the ladies do. He's handsome, smart, funny and once you get a glimpse of what he's like on the inside you will keep coming back for more! The sweetness underneath that tough exterior is worth every moment with him.Let's talk a little about the chemistry between Branch and Layla once they start spending time together. It is EXPLOSIVE and off the charts. There's is an instant chemistry that is completely believable from the moment they shake hands. And the chemistry isn't just physical either, the connection these two while spending time together is easy going, honest, funny and downright heartwarming.I LOVED THIS STORY. I loved the characters, I loved the supporting characters. I loved how I laughed, got mad, hot and bothered and yet had a smile on my face the entire time. Adriana has a way of making the secondary cast stand out just as much as the hero and heroine without taking anything away from who the story is about. It's fabulous and makes the story so enjoyable. Trust me when I say that when you're done, you are hoping beyond hope that you hear more about some of these supporting characters. Let’s just say I might be smiling even more now that football season has started. Adriana scored more than a touchdown in my playbook!

This was such a sweet story, and quick read! And I really enjoyed the introduction to the Gibson Boys 😍

In toys book are some of my favorite tropes. Best friend’s sister and one I don’t want to give away because it was a nice surprise not mentioned in the blurb.

Branch is tough to take at times because he’s a player in every way. There’s details if that isn’t your thing. Then there’s Layla, she’s feisty and strong. I liked her but there were moments I wanted her to stay mad.

It’s a good book about taking a good look at yourself and what is truly important. About making life choices and life changes. It was a good book. I love her writing!

That seems to be the bro code in sports and just friendship. Often that’s because a guy’s best friend knows too much about him to want him anywhere near his sister!
Layla James Miller is Finn Miller’s little sister and Branch “Lucky” Best is his pro football teammate and best friend. Until he isn’t!
A cute romcom with some hilarious banter, hot footballers, strong women, and some serious steam! What’s not to love?

There is a reason Adriana Locke is a go to author for me. It's books like Lucky Number Eleven. I was drawn into the book from the first page and couldn't put it down until I finished, which was around 4:00 a.m.! Branch is your typical pro football player...... he's a player in every sense of the word. He has no desire to be tied down during his career, he's seen what that looks like with his teammates. Enter Layla James, baby sister to his team mate/best friend Finn. Layla is a blogger. She is sassy, funny and gives as good as she gets from Branch. She is also aware of what relationships are like in the pro sports world, as her ex boyfriend is on a vacation that she planned, with someone else. She decided a weekend away, at her family's cabin with her bestie Poppy, is in order. Finn too also decided a weekend away at the cabin was a good idea, before the preseason started, and he brought Branch with him. Layla and Branch's attraction was instant and I so enjoyed the ride of watching their relationship unfold. They are just perfect for each other and have an amazing chemistry together. There were times when I was literally laughing out loud and other times my heart was breaking from them and I was crying. Adriana has an amazing way with words.

Can I just say that I would love if there is book sometime down the road for Finn, Layla's brother, and Poppy, her bestie. They were the best secondary characters ever! Poppy was at times absolutely hysterical but she always had Layla's back. Finn is the brother I always wished I had. Always protective of Layla and there for her when she needed him the most. Finn and Poppy have this "relationship" kinda thing going on. I would love to see how that all started and how it turns out.

To say I recommend this book is an understatement. It really is a one-click must!!!

**** I loved all of the Landry series references, especially the grapes ;)

This book was OK, just not for me. I thought the characters vacillated between immature and annoying. For that reason, I couldn’t really get invested in the story.

Oh how I love a good football player romance! I love their cocky attitudes and their god complexes. Though I much prefer them in books vs their antics in real life. At least these guys are sexy bad boys and not of the criminal variety!

Branch Best is a wide receiver, and beast on the field, off the field he's just a player. Though that is what the media says about him. Truly he's a sweet and unselfish man. He doesn't want to bring any woman into the mayhem and madness that surrounds his life. So it's easier to just not commit. I sort of admired that. If you think about the lifestyle they live, on the road or always at work. The doubts that a significant other can have would be damaging to the relationship. But all that changes when he meets his best friends sister.

So I kind of think of this as a slightly forbidden romance in a way. Finn says stay away from my sister, and she says mind your own business. But when push comes to shove and life happens in an unexpected way, friendships can be severed easily. I won't say more then that because the plot would be ruined...

I really enjoyed this book by Adriana. It was sweet and sexy, had just enough drama, however there was something a little missing for me when it came to the big plot point. I wanted a little more depth with the families of Branch and Layla. It was hinted at and we got little bits but never anything fully flushed out. But other then that it had all the best elements of a good love story and for that I was satisfied as a reader. I did stay up till one o'clock in the morning reading it so that must meant something right! Adriana has a great flow to her writing and I have seen her come a long long way since her first book. Her plot and her development has improved so much since that first book. I truly enjoy her books and I recommend them to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comédia romântica com personagens que conquistam o leitor e trama pra lá de encantadora
Reviewed in Brazil on June 1, 2018
Eu adorei tudo neste divertido romance.

Easy read with good dialog.
I think I've read too many contemporary romances with professional athletes or "don't touch my sister" plots now.
Layla's brother Finn gives his BEST FRIEND a black eye when he finds out Branch slept with her (SPOILER: and got her pregnant). Come on! Layla is an adult and the sex was consensual. But it's ok for Finn to be a man-whore?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little stand alone romance story
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 5, 2018
A great little stand alone story. Branch Best does the dirty on his best friend Finn Miller by booking up with his younger sister Layla.

Branch is a total man-whore who has never wanted to settle down, enjoys his time with the groupies that hang around the team. As two single guys they live it up.

Layla has recently broken up with her long time boyfriend when she gets confirmation that he has been cheating, and she decides to live the single life and have fun. That is until she meets Branch. There is something between them, a chemistry, and they both feel it. After a great weekend together they decide to go their separate ways but they both end up thinking about the other.

What happens next changes both their lives forever. Will they ever end up together? Would Layla ever be able to trust such a player?

OMG!! I loved this book so much!! I loved it all!! I loved the story of Branch and Layla and how they met, all the twists, and man, I wanted to reach through the book and throat punch Callum so badly! I didn't like him one bit!!!
I really enjoyed the storyline, the writing style of Adriana's that I enjoy anyway, but man it was so good!!! I literally couldn't put it down. I had to finish it and see how it ended.
Layla did get on my nerves a bit as she couldn't make up her mind, and was going back and forth. It's like a movie in which you want to yell "What in the hell are you doing woman?"
Layla and Branch meet as he plays football with her brother! He knows he can't be there for her in the way she deserves, but Layla has a surprise for him! And oh boy, doesn't Finn hate it!! Layla has her bestie Poppy there for support, and I love their friendship! I want to be friends with them!
Of course there's some humour in the book in which I loved too! There were some twists and turns, and I loved how protective Branch was with Layla when Callum was involved.
But all in all I really LOVED this book!
I also really enjoyed that it entertained with her other books in the Gibson Boys Series!!!!!! I was totally surprised, and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!
I can't wait to read more in this series from the other authors and I want to find Finn and Poppy's book!
