I absolutely love this book. Stefanie Jenkins has done it again taking us through this rollercoaster of emotions with I Never Expected You.( I NEVER SERIES BOOK #2) I love how in this book we get to see Hails and Zach's POV regarding Em's passing , all the emotions that they went through and how each of them grow as adults overcoming the tragedy they both experienced. I love that their friendship grows to something more meaningful and that without realizing it , they fall deeply in love with each other. Zach and Haylee's chemistry it's so unique because before anything they were best friends and that makes it so much interesting in the story because we get to see how this relationship develops. We get to see Dani and Kyler from" I never Planned on You " and I really enjoyed how the two stories overlap, So YES I definitely recommend reading book one because I assure you don't want to miss anything of this incredible journey that takes us through a learning experience (at list for me) of how to put together a broken soul. And I leave you with this : "Through Em's death, I found Zach. Yes It've known him my whole life, but it wasn't until we were both so broken and lost in the darkness and consumed by our grief that we found light in each other.

This is a great story of love and loss, and finding love in unexpected places. I loved seeing Zach and Haylee's POV. Wonderful characters and story. I enjoyed this story very much. From the moment of tragedy, Zack and Haylee have to learn to cope. Finding each other to lean on they find love. I love their chemistry, funny, and sexy. Great HEA.

In less then six months Zach & Danielle lose two of the most important people in their life’s and quickly try to figure out how to deal. What happens when grief turns to love and someone you’ve known your entire life becomes something you never expected ?

I’m always a sucker for a brothers best friend romance which is what caused me to request this arc but what I wasn’t planning for was the emotional rollercoaster I was going to go on!

Danielle, Zackory, Dani and Emmett are four peas in a pod, they have grown up together and are always connected at the hip. No one questioned it when Zach’s little sister Dani started dating Danielle’s older brother Emmett because they were always meant to be. But Emmett & Zach’s sophomore year of college changed everything for everyone when Emmett passes away in a car accident. Danielle and Zach are thrown into a deep dark hole of grief and somehow become the only people they can count on.

Usually I don’t lean towards such sad books when it comes to reading but this is one story I’m glad I didn’t pass on. Watching these two work though their pain and learn to smile again was so beautiful especially because it all worked towards them falling in love.

Zach is the normal goofy older brother, man whore of campus and silly one in the group, he’s definitely not the one Danielle thought she’d fall in love with.

This is a story of friendship, love and loss, working though the dark storms you never see coming and realizing how important the people in your life truly are!

I'm sure that I'm in the minority here, but I Never Expected You just didn't hit the mark for me. It started out with such promise, and I really liked the first half. I liked getting a better understanding of how Haylee and Zach got together. I loved how they found love through tragedy. Unfortunately, a good chunk of this book was repetitive of I Never Planned On You because much of the timelines overlapped. Yes, it was from a different character's POV, but much of the retelling was way too similar for me; in fact, I found that I skipped over much of the second half of the book (at least until the last few chapters) because of this.

Please do understand that I really enjoy Stefanie Jenkins' writing, and will definitely read more from her. Definitely (she is a great storyteller)! But I Never Expected You was a miss for me.

The beauty of us came from the ashes of our loss.

I had been in such a reading rut during this quarantine, and it was a such a bummer because I have all this extra time, it would be the perfect opportunity to read.

Then I found Stefanie. This is the second book of her's I have read, and I'm about to start the 3rd. I love her words. Her books are heartbreaking, but they are real. She knows how to make you feel all the emotions the characters are feeling, and she can really make you connect to her story.

I loved Haylee and Zach in the first book, so I was really excited when I found out they had their own book. They had both been through so much, and their pain brought them together. I loved that. It goes to show you that even when you are losing hope, and you feel like giving up, you can still find love when you're in a dark place.

"Sometimes, we need to take a moment and escape the chaos to remember that it's just you and me. Never forget that."

I like how their story mixed in with Dani & Kyler's story and you got to see what was happening between those two from a different point of view. I think the connecting stories really helped you feel closer to these characters. It was almost like you were apart of their lives too. I quickly became invested.

Stefanie has gained a fan of me for life now. Her books have been full of love, loss, hope, and some heat. Everything you could possibly want from a good romance book wrapped up into one. I can't wait to dive into book 3, and then I can wait impatiently for the next book to come out.

Overall, I'm giving this one 5 STARS. I think Stefanie does an excellent job of pulling you into her stories, and making you feel like your hanging out with old friends. You become invested in these families and their relationships. She knows how to make you laugh and make you cry, and it really doesn't get much better than that.

I also went straight to Amazon and bought paperback copies of this book and the next one, because I'm probably a fan girl now.

Então conta a história deles, de como descobrem se amar e constroem um relacionamento. O sofrimento deles com a perda do Emmet também é muito verdadeira, achei super realista. O único porém é que por se tratar de livros se interligam, esse tem muitos spoilers do próximo casal da série. Não li o segundo livro ainda, mas pode der que estrague um pouco a leitura do próximo.

Stefanie Jenkins gave me all the feels again with this book. I started off crying, and by the end I had a huge smile on my face. I adored Zach and Haylee, and how they found themselves attracted to one another, and developing a relationship. They both grew and changed so much, and I felt all the emotions with them. I loved how perfectly it tied in with I Never Planned on You, and how we got to see events from Zach and Haylee's POV.
Stefanie Jenkins is a master at weaving these emotional, amazing stories, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
