Hothead (Irresistible) Kindle Edition
And my fake fiancé for the next three months.
...
I was drunk-dialing my ex the night I met him.
Six-three, sexy as sin and so incredibly rude I could smack the asshole smirk right off his face. Long story short, we got off to a bad start. But when the tabloids interpret our sparring as Drew Maddox "groveling" with a "mystery brunette," his agent presents us both a proposal:
Shacking up as a couple this summer.
It’s an alleged “win-win.” I need to prove to my ex that I'm fine. Drew needs to prove to his team that he's stable. Thanks to his on-field brawling and never-ending lady drama, Drew Maddox has suddenly found himself on the trade block - which means he needs a fast, easy way to show the team that he's settled down.
Hence this fiance thing.
Our fights are real, our kisses are fake, and thanks to the nonstop heat between us, I’m starting to mix up all my signs. But whether it’s real or fake, there’s one thing I do know:
I’m already addicted.

Stella Rhys is an author of contemporary romance and can't help but write it hot, steamy and borderline filthy (just kidding, it's flat-out filthy). Writing aside, she lives for coffee, the Yankees and cooking recipes way out of her league. She was born and raised in New York and now lives there with her husband and charmingly entitled fur baby.
John Masterson is a classically trained actor and craftsman. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest.
Cassandra Myles grew up in New England and began entertaining early in her childhood, singing and dancing at the local community theaters. From there, she continued to hone her skills in dance, music, and acting by performing in plays. Cassandra is an avid reader and now revels in being part of listeners' journeys through audiobook narration.

Drew can be hotheaded, he can be a jerk, but you will definitely know where you stand with him. He makes no apologies for his directness. I feel it is due to the fact that life has thrown him some major curve balls which has made him very cynical. But there is still hope for him yet, there is at least one person he can trust, his best mate Emmett. If he opened up his circle of trust just a little more, there would be an incredible woman for him too.
Evie Larsen has struggled most of her life, and it has made her a battler. Even when the odds are against her, she will strive to be positive and assertive. She takes a major tumble when her long time high school sweetheart ends their relationship. A chance meeting with Drew, and her whole world takes on a very different direction. I loved Evie's tenacity! I loved her believe in the good of people, her trust. I also loved the strong family values she held high, even if she had been pushed to her limits.
The chemistry between these two were off the charts from the very beginning. I admired how Evie held her own going up against Drew's smart mouth. The intensity of their passion was engaging and dynamic. To watch Drew become vulnerable with his heart was so sweet and swoony. It may take him a while to catch up with Evie, but he gets there in the end.

This is a new author to me and WOW I wished I had been introduced to her sooner!!! Absolutely loved her writing style, it draws you in from the first page, keeps you guessing, makes you swoon, laugh out loud and not want to put it down, I inhaled this book and didn’t want it to end. Even though I’ve not read the previous books in the series (and I will be soon) it didn’t really matter as all the characters and world had such depth that I didn’t realise it was part of a series until I reviewed.
I always enjoy a good enemies to lover tale, because when the banter is done right and there is really good give and take, it makes for some great chemistry and boy did Drew and Evie have that !!!!
Drew has the Baseball leagues number 1 Womaniser and Badboy reputation and was extremely cynical to boot! But wow was he smoking hot, like perfection really!! The author didn’t take his cockiness (even though I was a little worried when he referred to himself in the 3rd person) to far, sure he was OTT confident, but he had the stats to back it up lol, thankfully he wasn't a complete jerk, he certainly had his reasons and a softer side to him that few people got to experience.
Evie started off as a bit clingy to her ex (understandable after the long length of their relationship) but once she met Drew, the gloves came off and we got to see the real her, once she ditched her emotional baggage, her ex, we really got to see the strong woman she was!!! Loved her and how she conducted her self in the face of all that jeering and heckling from Drew’s sports fan haters, thought she was perfect with Drew.
The sexy times were so freaking good and frequent but they weren’t repetitious at all and wow were they steamy!! Baseball isn’t something that im familiar with but after the author describes how Drew played etc, I think its something I may have to look into further lol!!
Overall an amazing book that I didn’t want to put down and that I highly recommend, I will definitely be checking out what else this author has to offer!!!
Their 1 rule, no sex or physical contact in private.
Which they break pretty quick.
A great story about a woman that believes that love make us stronger, and a man that doesn't believe in love at all and doesn't trust anyone. But eventually even the toughest man falls for the right woman.
I volunteered for a arc of this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Hidden Gems

Evie is going through a separation (which is great cause Mike seemed like a dick in the previous book). Drew catches her making a drunk phone call and can’t help but call her out on sounding pathetic. After their heated argument makes news headlines, Drew proposes Evie pretend to be his fake girlfriend/fiancé for a few months to prove his image is cleaned up and she has a free place to stay in the city while she’s working. Seems like a solid plan, until Drew’s agent says he can’t touch any other girl or Evie for the entire contract…
The sexual tension between these two was already palpable, and now with everyone saying and thinking them hooking up is a bad idea it’s just like more gasoline on the fire! And man when things explode between them, they really explode! You can’t contain this fire in or out of the bedroom 😉 In the end, will Evie be able to finally get over Mike and move on with Drew? Even if she can, will Drew get over his fear of being used and learn someone may love him for him..?? I’m torn between loving this novel, or Dirty Deeds more… they both are just amazing read the whole series let’s be real!
Evie is coming out of a long relationship. She has known her ex-boyfriend for a long time, since she was a child. They essentially grew up together and eventually got into a serious relationship. But it’s been a while since they’ve been intimate and their relationship has gone stale. They were finally moving into a new place and that’s when he tells her that he needs time away from her, and they shouldn’t be together. She’s blindsided but doesn’t want to give up on them. When she goes to an event, she’s outside talking to his voicemail when Drew, MLB pitcher for the New York Empires, overhears her. He tells her that she needs to stop begging, which triggers her to tell him off. Of course, he becomes cocky with her and lets her know that he could please her by barely touching her, and he does 🥵🔥😅.
Drew is a hothead. He tends to get triggered (fights and arguments) and it might cost him his career. When he’s seen talking to Evie at the restaurant, they get photographed and people think that they’re together. He gets called in by his agent and is advised to pretend he’s in a serious relationship with her, even as far as being engaged, or else his position with the New York Empires will be at risk (he’ll get traded). Since he doesn’t want this happening, he agrees, and now he has to convince Evie to go along with this.
It doesn’t take much to convince her though because they have such intense chemistry going on. Plus, this is a way for Evie to get back at her ex for breaking up with her. If he sees that she’s moved on so quickly, her ex will get possessive and want her back, and Drew will keep his job.
They get a contract going an agree to a few things- be romantic in public, live together, and they must do this for three months. Drew can’t have sex with anyone, including her (since she’ll get upset when they “break up” three months from now) and they must keep the farce up to convince the world of their love. But do you think they listen? 😅
Their connection is intense- they can’t help gravitating towards each other, even when they’re alone. From touches, to glances, to possessiveness, to massages and rub downs, these two have more chemistry than a science lab🥵🔥. Even when they agreed to “not go too far and touch each other” when they’re alone, they break the rules, and every single time is delicious 😅💦🔥. Jeeezus it was explosive 🔥. The confidence he exudes is so sexy (from their almost-kiss to the spanking/edging scene 🔥🥵).
But besides the physical connection, the emotional connection that develops is more important. Drew has a REALLY hard time trusting people- to the point that he only really has a handful of people he confides in. He’s been burned before because of his status/career, and that’s something he needs to work on. Although Evie doesn’t open up to people often, the way they get close is organic and believable. Gawd- I loved it 🥺❤️.
Now I need to read all the other books in the series.
⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no owd/cheating/sharing
-mild omd- the h talks to her ex a few times, even confronting him because of their breakup and the things she finds out. The H and h have words, but it doesn’t really put a damper of the H and h’s relationship. When the OM tries to make fun of the H for a bad game, the h steps up and defends the H, being as feisty with her words and her actions.
-there’s a scene where there are girl fans taking pictures with the H, but it’s not a big deal to either character (the H gets irritated though and just wants to touch the h and get away from the fans)
I really enjoyed this one, the start wasn't very captivating but somehow the writing made me feel connected with both Evie & Drew. These two enter into the fake dating pool because of a media article claiming Evie as Drew's serious girlfriend who managed to tame his playboy nature. I loved Evie but I loved Drew more no matter how closed off, hotheaded or broody he could get. He pushed Evie's buttons but she had a mind of her own. She was bold, mature and knew exactly what she wanted. I just wish the story was a bit longer because I absolutely loved the chemistry between Evie & Drew but I wish I could see them acting as an actual couple more.
"If any one person deserved to be the picture next to the Oxford definition of masculinity, it was definitely this prick right here."
Evie Larsen believes in love. In spite of a rough upbringing and a recent painful breakup, she still believes in love and a HEA. An annoying run-in with the bad boy of baseball gets her all hot and bothered. Insane chemistry aside, she knows better than to give in to him.
Drew Maddox is a cynic. He believes all good things turn sour. He doesn't believe in love. He has few true friends and a family he can't stand. His one true love is baseball. It's his sole focus. However, his bad boy ways and bad press have put his career on the line. He needs to clean up his act.
"She was both my problem and my solution, and I was pretty sure I hated her for it."
One chance encounter with a sexy little firecracker is spun into a promising publicity stunt. Neither Drew nor Evie can deny that a fake relationship might be advantageous to them both. They just need to keep things businesslike and their hands off each other. However, that's easier said than done when there's serious mutual attraction between them.
"While I prided myself on having no limits, I'd apparently found my first one. Resisting this damned woman."
Wowzers! I've read the previous book in this series, Dirty Deeds, and thought it was fabulous! Once again, the author brings her own brand of sexiness and humour to this novel, and I absolutely adored it!
Drew is cocky and brash, and one hot-blooded alpha! I loved how much he wanted Evie, and how hard he tried to fight it. I liked that he didn't just grab his opportunity when it was presented to him on a platter, and that underneath his playboy façade lurks a decent heart. Evie absolutely tested his self-control!
"The way she seeped into my skin and got into my head was everything I never wanted, but at this point I was too lost in her to stop it."
Evie was so hung up on her previous boyfriend due to their long history, however, there's no denying the sizzling desire between her and Drew. I loved her character! She was sassy, confident, and didn't put up with any of his nonsense. I loved how she challenged him. He'd really met his match in her.
This was a fabulous read with great characters, amusing dialogue, and just the right amount of angst. Evie and Drew together were so swoony!! Thoroughly recommend!
