From Ashes To Flames: A Stand Alone Enemy To Lovers Grumpy Single Dad Romance (A West Brothers Novel Book 1) Kindle Edition
Two broken hearts, one massive secret, and a forbidden love that could either make or break them...
Becoming a nanny had never been part of my career plan. However, after getting fired from my dream job, I found myself taking on the role of caregiver for two children. As someone who never really enjoyed being around tiny humans, this was going to be a gigantic challenge.
The day I showed up at the grand house of my new employer, Dr. Greydon West, I was prepared to face whatever obstacles lay ahead. The door opened to reveal two sets of eyes - one belonging to an adorable little girl and the other to a man with a scowl so formidable it could scare even the bravest of people.
When I introduced myself, his frown deepened even further, making it clear that working for this man would be torturous. Despite my reservations and his hot-tempered outbursts, I found myself drawn to the handsome and brooding doctor.
As time passed, my opinion of him deteriorated further until one day he kissed me and ignited a burning desire. One passionate kiss was all it took for a spark to explode between us that couldn’t be ignored. But I knew this forbidden relationship would never work; after all, a nanny and her employer were a recipe for disaster.
Except he thought otherwise and set out to prove me wrong.

One day on her way home from work as a sales manager, USA Today bestselling author, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast-forward. If she didn't do something soon, it would be too late to write that novel she had dreamt of her whole life. She slammed on the brakes, made a crazy decision, and quit her job. Then she reinvented herself and wrote novels that kept everyone up all night.
She fancies herself all of the following: Reader, Writer, Dark Chocolate Lover, Ice Cream Worshipper, Coffee Drinker, Grey Goose Aficionado, and #WalterThePuppyAndTroublemaker controls her life. If you’re around her for more than five minutes, you’ll soon notice she has a tendency to talk your ear off. Believe it or not, all the crazy stories she tells are true too.

I loved it from start to finish!
Can’t wait to read more books by this author!
You can really connect with some stories & writing styles & I definitely did with this. Despite the age difference, her non conforming looks it worked very well. I'm a sucker for cute, outspoken & curious kids too ! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I loved the banter between these two. I really admired Marin and found her to be a great character, especially the way she kept her head up and moved forward when found in a couple of circumstances that had the power to hurt. Grey, dear Grey....I wanted to kick him more than once, but he redeemed himself. The kids were a great addition to the story.
This is a well written story about two people finding love when they least expected or wanted it.

Enter Marin a woman that has recently had her life thrown into upheaval thanks to her boyfriend and thanks to her mom she's the new nanny for Grey's kids Aaron, his baby boy and his precious and oh so smart seven year old little girl Kinsley. She is not what he expected in a nanny given her looks, which Kinsley loved but he questioned. And so begins their tentative relationship of employer and employee.
As I was reading their book, I laughed out loud so many times thanks to Kinsley and also because Marin doesn't let Grey walk all over her. She's had to toughen up a little bit and refuses to be walked all over and Grey just doesn't know what to do with her. Other than fight his attraction to her that is...and this is the part of the story that had me fanning myself!
As the story progresses and Marin grows closer and to kids and falls in love with them, she also learns why Grey is the way he is especially when it comes to love and his kids. At certain points in the story my heart was beating so fast because I could feel how much Grey loved his kids but there were some definite questions that needed answering which could have repercussions that no one wanted. Not only does Marin fall in love with the kids, but she and Grey stop fighting their attraction and holy wowza they're on fire!! But it's not smooth sailing for either of them.
What it all comes down to is that sometimes taking that leap for love, while complicated and maybe just a little messy is worth it and the person you least expected to be your forever love is the person standing right in front of you. This book is everything I love about Ms. Hargrove's writing and her ability to write a story that is both light and a little dark but filled with so much love.

Usually I’m not a huge fan of age difference in a book but I didn’t mind it in this case because both characters were old enough for my liking. I was also glad that it wasn't one of those daddy romances because although there was a 15-year age gap, the heroine was already 26 and mature enough to handle a 41 year old man so that I never had the feeling she would be too young for him or he too old for her.
I absolutely loved this book which started with a bang! There was so much going on right from the start which made it so easy to get sucked into the story and I kind of felt like being a teenager again, in love for the first time and making a fool out of myself because I was so giddy the whole time. I may have a huge crush on Greydon. =P
The love story was a slow burn for anyone who likes to know, but let me tell you, it's so worth it and absolutely perfect! There’s no way it would have been that good if the characters were head over heels in love from the beginning because the story definitely needed to take its time to unravel and for the H and h to be comfortable with each other. Especially since Grey had a lot to deal with until he could even acknowledge Marin’s presence.
I would have never expected the story to go this way because honestly, I feared that once the characters got it on with each other that it would be all lovey-dovey and soon get boring but WOW! My worries were for nothing because I was totally engrossed in this book from start to finish. Talk about unpredictable and unputdownable!! It's nothing like I've read before and definitely the best nanny book I've read so far.
Greydon was a broken hero who had to deal with a lot of pent-up anger and frustration which was totally understandable. I felt so very sorry for him because he would have needed to get everything off his chest before his world fell apart but life doesn’t always go the way you want it to. Anyway, I noticed that there were some people who didn't like the way Greydon treated Marin or how he acted at times. (Although he got his ass handed to him a time or two from her because she certainly was capable of handling a guy like him).
I'd just like to say that I had no problem with Grey’s behavior because although it must have been hard for Marin, I could totally relate to his feelings and how frustrated he was. He couldn’t act any differently because of the situation he was in and his actions were absolutely comprehensible. He was authentic and I loved to follow the process of his recovery. The author did an outstanding job with this story!!
My feelings were all over the place during this read and I wish I could have bottled up all those good emotions to have them at hand when I needed a dose of love.
I loved Marin's character. She was awesome and did what she thought was right and never let anyone dictate her anything she didn't want to do. I also loved her appearance because she wasn’t the typical beauty of the rich society with her colorful hair, piercings and tattoos.
The kids were the most well-behaved children and so adorable. Kinsley was so funny and a really clever and smart girl. She and Aaron were always good-humored and almost too good to be true.
I loved this book something fierce and can't wait for Grey's brothers’ stories!!

If you’re a fan of single dad romances and, like me, you loved A.M. Hargrove’s ‘For The Love of English’ then you MUST read this!!
From Ashes To Flames has sent me on an emotional roller coaster of a ride. And what a ride! The fast paced plot had me hooked from the beginning and kept on the edge of my seat for most of the time, when I wasn't chuckling to myself. One hilarious scene in particular had me laughing so out loud so hard. You can always rely on this author to add her quirky sense of humour to her books. Pure genius!
I love a strong female lead who isn’t afraid to say what she’s thinking and Marin McLain was all that and more. With her rainbow coloured hair, piercings and tattoos and sassy mouth Dr. Greydon West didn’t know what had hit him. He'd definitely met his match with Marin.
Although Grey seemed quite distant and unfeeling at the start I adored that hot, sexy doctor *sighs*. Did I mention that he was hot?
I did feel for Grey over what he went through but at one point I did want to grab him by the shoulders to shake some sense into him and shout, ‘GET A GRIP, MAN!! LOOK WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!!!’
Six year old Kinsley TOTALLY stole the show. She turned my heart to mush with her Irish step-dancing and her ‘clicky shoes’.
From Ashes To Flames was a definite 'Goldilocks' read for me...just right.
It had just the right amount of humour, angst, drama, tension and sizzling, hot passion. Oh, and the surprise at the end was simply perfect!
I know I’m not doing this book the justice it deserves but trust me, this is one you need on your kindle. Go #1Click the hell out of this, I can't recommend it enough!!
