Forget You Not: A Second Chance Standalone Romance (A Reclusive Novel Book 2) Kindle Edition
I didn’t believe in love at first sight until Lark stood before me.
Pretty sure I would have married her on the spot.
Too bad fate had other plans.
Duty called and I had to answer—no matter the consequences.
There wasn't a chance for goodbye, but I'd never forget her.
Time has a way of creating change—but only on the surface.
Even after all these years, I know Lark is mine.
I belong to her just the same.
The moment I see her again, it’s a done deal.
All I've got to do is convince her this is forever.
She can push but I’ll only pull harder.
I’m not letting our second chance slip away.

About the author
Harloe Rae is a USA Today & Amazon Top 5 best-selling author. Her passion for writing and reading has taken on a whole new meaning. Each day is an unforgettable adventure.
She’s a Minnesota gal with a serious addiction to romance. There’s nothing quite like an epic happily ever after. When she’s not buried in the writing cave, Harloe can be found hanging with her hubby and kiddos. If the weather permits, she loves being lakeside or out in the country with her horses.
Broody heroes are Harloe’s favorite to write. Her romances are swoony and emotional with plenty of heat. All of her books are available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

Teenage Lark Somers was working her job at Brack's Box restaurant. Business was so slow that she was wishing a customer would walk in to break up the boredom. Just like her wish came true, the most gorgeous man she had ever seen walks right in. He's tall and broad, easily over six feet. Tingles erupt along her skin as her heart takes a sprint. She thinks he is her every teenage fantasy come true. But she falls in instant-love when he says, “Wow, you're really beautiful. What's your name?”
Lark collects herself from the spell he has put her under, to remember her job. “Umm, hello. Thanks for coming to Brack's Box. My name is Lark.” He says, “My name is Rowen, but all my friends call me Row. It's my pleasure to meet you.” When he holds out his hand to shake, her skin tingles on contact. His basic touch lights her up, and shock surges through her. She had read about this type of reaction in romance novels, but this is actually happening. He pulls her into his hard body and whispers close to her ear, “Do you believe in destiny? What about soul-mates? It seems like I was meant to come in here today.” Remembering that she needs this job, she seats him at an outside table. Promising to join him as soon as her shift is over. The chemistry between them is so powerful that her soul already seems bonded to him. He promises to wait patiently for her to have just a moment of her time. But as she passes the glass doors she finds his table empty. He vanished up in smoke, taken her foolish broken-heart with him.
Seven years would pass before fate would have their paths cross once again. Lark had abandonment issues since her father had left, and Rowen had no way of knowing how devastating his abandonment had been on her. But the memory of that one seemingly special afternoon had affected both their lives. Fairy tales and happily ever afters don't exist, or do they?
The beginning and the end move rapidly, but the middle moves somewhat slower. It turns out that Rowan is exactly what Lark needs, only she was afraid to hope. The tension is somewhat uneven in places, but the story is worth reading, as there are some really beautiful parts. They have a few challenges to deal with, but they finally find their HEA ending.
Already on page one, we're thrown smack into plain action. We're voyeurs to an insta-love that can only be rivaled by Romeo and Juliet, because—whoa, chemistry anyone?
Lark is forever branded by that first meeting with Rowen, and her way of dealing with his disappearance is completely realistic. She's a passionate woman who needs to channel her desires at the same time as she's protecting her heart.
What happens when the man who broke Lark's heart barges in again, when he's wiser, hotter, and more deliciously alpha than ever?
Lark knows what she wants, though.
"Who do you think you are, Rowen? You can't just waltz into my life and start barking orders."
Rowen has work cut out for him.
"This woman causes possessiveness like I've never felt before thunder through me."
If you're in the market for a book with strong emotions, hot encounters, and forever-love to last for miles, I recommend Forget You Not. It will be your bag of hard-soft candy to keep devouring until the whole bag is gone.
