Come A Little Closer Kindle Edition
I met Sarah at the airport.
Beautiful.
Sexy.
And a bit shy.
She was wobbling on heels that looked a little too big, so I offered her my seat. At first, she rebuffed my invitation, but I convinced her to stay.
My flight had been delayed and I assumed hers had too. I figured why not spend the time together.
One drink led to casual conversation--she'd recently been fired and I'd just attended my ex-fiancée's wedding.
Three drinks led to getting a little closer--I slid a hand on her thigh and my fingertips under the hem of her skirt.
Five drinks led to a proposition--a hotel room and nothing more.
After a mind-blowing night of the hottest sex I've ever had, I woke up alone and penniless. Turned out Sarah was actually looking for more--just not more of me. I should never have offered her my seat. I should never have drunk so much. And I never should have fallen asleep.
All stupid moves.
Then again, who would have thought my self-proclaimed one-night stand would screw me in more than the literal sense.
That hooking up with Sarah would jeopardize everything I've worked for.
That Sarah wasn't really Sarah--nothing could have prepared me for that revelation.
If she thinks things are over between us--she's wrong.
Turns out, fate didn't throw me the bird after all.
"Sarah" doesn't know it yet but she picked the same tropical island to escape to as I did.
Can you say--payback?
I can.
Karma baby.
Too bad things don't always go as planned...

Sadie works for a hot tabloid magazine, that is until she puts in a male model's picture for her love article, which she knows is a no no, or her so called assistant does, and she is let go from her job.
Trying to get her life back she goes off to the small town where she grew up, but which also holds a dark past, and bumps into an old friend. The story takes hold when a accident happens and changes Sadie’s world for the worse.
Jaxson (sun dance) is the model/ photographer that Sadie used in her story. He's running away from life to a new start and new job after his ex-fiancée gets married.
Their paths meet one stormy night in the airport when she is posing as someone else as part of a con and he is waiting to get on a plane to his new life. But, when they instantly click, can Sadie go along with the con, especially after spending the night having hot steamy sex with him?
I loved the characters in this book. They had real chemistry from the off and the mystery and suspense, along with the hot sex, made it an enjoyable can't-put-it-down read, the twists and turns kept you gripped right until the end. You might even find you fall a little in love with Jaxson and his dirty mind yourself.
Books after fifty
I have to admit, at first I found it a bit hard to follow and when the storyline was unfolding, I worried it was going to take me to a place I wasn't happy to visit........ but wow, boom, bang..... a chapter or two later and I was hooked - bit time! Even though I guessed one part of the plot early on, I needed to work out the how and why, which means I was captivated the whole way. This book is a little different to what Ms Karr writes, it is a little darker but it still has all the other elements you will be expecting. It has mystery, romance, humor and some steamy sex scenes. At times I was giggling or full on laughing, others I was a little angsty as to what was about to happen. I was intrigued by the storyline with its twists and suspense and I was also bewitched in the love story of Jaxson and Sadie.
Sadie is a good girl, trying to overcome her upbringing, then a series of events and a very bad decision lands her in big trouble. Now she thinks she is a bad person. Good guy Jaxson, feels it is overrated, so for the last 12 months is being a little selfish and dipping his toe on the dark side, in being bad. A one nightstand after some drinking goes very wrong for him, and he too is now in a bind. They must both learn to trust again, before either can amend the wrongs. I loved both these characters immensely. I loved Jaxson's dirty mouth, and I adored Sadie's sass. I enjoyed the little slow burn we got from them and even though I revel in a good romp, sometimes less is more. Overall, it is a great book that I highly recommend you give a go.
*I’m grateful for the early copy provided by the author for my honest opinion.

Sadie is in a downward spiral that hits rock bottom on Moon Island, Georgia. Finding herself desperate she wrongs the man she had a one-night stand with, Jaxson, and tries to move one past it. Finding hat she can't she then tries to make amends and ends up running. Ending up on the Island of Antigua with nothing but the clothes on her back and $100 American dollars she runs into the one person she was running away from and the story just explodes from there. Intrigue, lust, romance, guilt. All of it.
Jaxson is the ex-fiancé of Jules from The Thing About Love. While the books exist in the same world they do not need to be read as part of a series, are NOT part of a series, I just loved the tie-in.
The book was so well-written and the plot twisted in just the right ways to always leave you feeling like something was just not sitting right. It was a prefect match to how I imagined the characters would be feeling. Loved it Hard! Enjoy!

Come A Little Closer was an exciting, intriguing and egg of your seat read. There were so many twists and turns that I couldn’t have predicted how this story was going to turn out. Kim Karr definitely knows how to delivery an OUTSTANDING romantic suspense novel.
Come A Little Closer is a standalone novel that is told in Dual POV. This is a companion novel to The Thing About Love. There are some interconnected characters that we see in both stories and the Hero of CALC, we first meet in The Thing About Love. You don’t have to read TTAL first before enjoying this story. Kim does a wonderful job filling in the blanks for the readers so you know how everything and everyone is connected. I truly feel these books can be read in any order and you won’t be lost.
I thought this book was well written. The pace and flow of this story was perfect. I loved how this story played out and how everything unfolded.
In this story we follow Jaxson and Sadie. Like I said we first met Jaxson in TTAL, he is Jules’s Ex. He is a professional photographer who has just been given the dream job. So he decides to help get over his break up with Jules, he is going to sell everything and live life and travel while he can. What he wasn’t expecting was to be stranded at the airport because his flight is canceled and then meeting Sadie. Sadie is a girl who is on her own and has been for awhile. She was just fired from her job and has gotten herself in a bit of trouble thanks to an old friend. This trouble has led her to the airport and to bump into Jaxson. What happens from here is a journey of lies, deceit, secrets but also finding love when you least expect it.
This was a great romantic suspense story, but it was also a story about finding love and having hope. You will learn that if you hold onto HOPE you can get through anything.
I would 100% recommend this book to all readers. This book had a little bit of everything for everyone. I think everyone should meet Jaxson and Sadie. This was one of my favorite reads this year!!!

Jaxson Cassidy aka Sundance has upended his world, closed his business and sublet his apartment to go after the chance of a lifetime after winning a contest to take pictures for a prestigious magazine.
While stranded at the airport during a storm Sadie and Jaxson will meet and have a steamy one night stand that will lead them to an unbelievable adventure.
For the first time, I found myself struggling with a book by this author. I found it difficult to follow the story and I honestly couldn’t make heads or tails out of it until well past half the book. I found Sadie’s logic flawed and her line of thinking didn’t make sense to me.
That said, once the story started unravelling, I managed to enjoy the rest of the book and it was not a complete loss for me. :(

*Received an ARC for which I voluntarily provided an honest review*

I absolutely loved this story and the characters that were within this story. I loved that characters from the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and we got to see what was happening with the main characters from that story. I loved the suspenseful element of this story and the way that the story kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through the story. There were many twists and turns throughout the story that I did not see coming. The storyline of this story was a definite page turner and I absolutely loved every page of this story.
Sadie Banks has had a string of bad luck in her life and her past is currently coming back to haunt her. It’s obvious that Sadie tries to the right thing in life, but circumstances cause her to sometimes do things that she doesn’t like. This causes her to feel like she is a bad person despite trying to the right thing.
Jaxson was introduced to readers in the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and in this book we got to learn more about him. We learnt about the devastation he felt about his engagement to Jules ending and her marrying someone else. We also got to see the hot dominant alpha male that created some incredible hot moments in the story. Jaxson I absoltuly loved reading about and found him to be not only incredible sexy character but also a good guy.
Come a little closer is about Sadie Banks whose life completely change due to circumstances out of her control. This sees her meeting Jaxson who was at the top of his career and sees the good in her. But Sadie thinks she is a bad girl that doesn’t deserve love, can the good guy turn her around.
Kim Karr has written an incredible story that flowed all the way through. This story had everything I love in a story, angst, drama, suspense, romance and steamy moments to create an engaging storyline. These two characters are amazing together that had an intense connection between them that resulted in many hot moments. This is a definite must read for everyone and one that I highly recommend.

Sadie Banks life hasn’t been an easy one. Just when she thinks things are finally a bit better, she is fired from her job. She returns home to a past that continuously haunts her. Something happens while she’s there which eventually leads to her first encounter with Jaxson.
Jaxson Cassidy is photographer who is chasing his dreams. He is just about to shoot a swimsuit cover for Sports Illustrated. His flight gets cancelled so he goes to the airport bar to drink the night away. While he’s at the bar, he sees Sadie walk in and he is determined to meet her. Sadie is there for a reason although Jaxson is not aware of the reason.
There’s so much more that happens between these two that I don’t want to spoil. I’ll just say that these two together are extremely hot. You definitely have to get Come A Little Closer and get ready to enjoy their journey. You’re going to be taken on one heck of a ride!
